Hi all I am looking to spend £850 on a new set up and am looking for some advice please. i know there are lots of these threads but as I already have half the items. I am looking to place an order this next week so items that are in stock or due in by then would be good (really wanted the XFX PSU but wont be in stock on time :( )

All I need is:
CPU
GPU (Nvidia Please :) )
Motherboard
PSU
Case - Really Like the NZXT Phantom and Lancool Dragon
Windows 7 Home Premium 64B
1TB Storage Drive
(maybe missed something?) AND no SSD Please :)

Thanks for any help

EDIT: Should say it's for gaming mostly.

I would say:

i5 2500k CPU
MSI 560 GTX Ti GPU
ASUS P8P67 Pro Motherboard
Seagate HDD
Windows disc
Antec 750w PSU Maybe?similar to XFX I think
Can't help ou on the case really

I would think it would be easy enough to come in on budget though. Others may be able to help better though.

Thanks all. Like bits of both the above systems. I am so freaking indecisive though lol

Is the 570 GTX a lot better than the 560 Ti? from the reviews I have looked at they have been fairly close.

I do need a copy of windows 7. My copy has decided to stop working, seems to have come to the end of my extended trial period ;)

Just the case it I just cannot decide on now. Seem to be between:
NZXT Phantom, HAF X, Lantec Dragon, Antec 902v3, Antec 1200, Antec Dark Fleet 85 (love some of the features in the 85, hot swap drives, slot for 2.5" on top etc) just maybe a tad ugly. Not the cheapest of cases but it's the only ones I am liking or have stood out for me.

the tihng with the 560 is it can be clocked pretty well. if your competent with overclocking i would go with a 560

Get the GTX480. Performs better than GTX570 and ocuk has an awesome deal on them at the moment. I just grabbed myself one.

You really can save here, bundling PSU + Case is always good for money saving. By all means im not saying get a crappy PSU. Do your research on them first :)

No, it doesn't. The 570 is just a little bit faster.

touché forgot about the great deals on the gtx480 ;P
In which case i would go with the first option in my post with a gtx480 instead of the gtx560 (only like £5 more) which also includes the windows7 and case you liked :)

I won't be overclocking the graphics card at all, just using it as shipped. I don't do benchmarking or anything like that, just plug in and play. So which would I be best fir on that grounds?

GTX 480 :) As I say, on par if not faster than the 570 and a whole £100 cheaper at the moment. You do the math... I'm sure if money wasn't an issue. you'd get a 580 :)

Save your 100quid for something else that needs it.

No no wasn't really looking at the 570, would have to change my package quite a bit to get that. Was just a toss up between the 560 ti and 480 really. 480 is £35 cheaper than the 560 ti.

Ok thanks. Will reevaluate my basket and see if I can afford a 570 somehow, if not I will go for the 480. I could drop windows 7 and go with Vista I have the disc for that but it's only 32bit, then I could get a 570. Not sure if I could go back to vista after over a year on Windows 7 though. Have decided on the Lancool Dragon though so that takes things down a nit in price.

Woahh.. Don't touch vista again lol. Keep your Win 7.

How come you want a 570? The 480 is on par, if not better. And has bigger frame buffer. AND is £100 cheaper than the 570 at the moment.

Can't stress enough how much of a deal ocuk have put out this week on the 480.

It's not that I want a 570 it's just I thought newer = better. The numbers mean nothing to me lol. I will trust your info and go for one though.

I don't have win 7 anymore my ''copy'' doesn't seem to want to work anymore lol so would need to buy it.

The only downside I can see of the 480's seem to be noise, heat and power consumption. Power consumption doesn't bother me too much but heat and noise might, are they likely to be a lot louder than a 560 Ti and would the Lancool dragon case as it comes be cold enough for a 480?

I've really no idea, I've only just ordered my GTX 480 and won't come until tomorrow. Noise and power don't bother me, especially for £100 saving. Heat is manageable in any computer. Don't forget you'll have your warranty anyway.

570 may have the advantage of being quieter, using less power etc. But the fact remains it is £100 more expensive at the moment, along with the frame buffer being small than that on the 480.

Newer doesn't always mean it's better. Especially if getting a 570 means you have to use vista.

Yeah that's true, just find graphics cards a bit confusing, the MHz etc can be higher in one card but yet it's not as good in-game as some with lower stats. Guess I would need to know which stats mattered lol
