8700k - did i just win the lottery?

I’d like to see some completed scores with that clock showing ;) It’s probably still ‘good’ as that’s what the 8086 are but it doesn’t really give a true picture to say simply delid and magic happens.

Old benchmarks but there you go ...

Cinebench R15 and old Win7 without SP :) 5.4GHz score 1786cb

Oh my... I just delidded my first chip. 5.4 @ 1.4v.... bsod at the last min of timespy lol. ..... Watch this space....

And he's hooked.

I used to do the same with my 2600k. Got it to bench at 5.2 (which was great in the day) I spent more time tweaking than gaming haha.

Ok i bumped up the cache to 52 and upped the voltage to 4.5v but i am pretty much matching your CPU score. I also looked at older much lower clocks and theyre much lower scoring - so i dont think its a stability issue? What RAM are you running? I have 3000mhz @ 3200mhz.
We have the same boards so interested to know what your other settings are?

Ive stressed this in real bench and its fine.

Errors I believe.

Yeah because it's unstable. But I don't get how a GPU bench can score lower? If the clocks are high the FPS is to?

With CPU bench that's calculating, then I get that. A error is a false? But a GPU ? This is were I get stumped. Maybe a missed frame ?

The difference is ram probably, ran it again at 3200 vs 4000 and got this

I dont understand why people pump cache up, I did a lot of testing and it improved nothing, not even benchmarks. After a bit of research I discovered it only really helps if you have extremely fast ram. Like quad channel ram.

Also is that 1.4v going to be a 24/7 setup? Is on the high side for that voltage in my opinion.
