It's the money thing where Nvidia are blatently taking the mickey. Anyone who buys an Ultra at that price/performance should be flogged and shot.

Nvidia should be tought by consumers that rip-off won't be tolerated. DO NOT BUY THIS.

I sincerely hope that their competitors give them a good slap soon.
 
8800 Ultra.... a chance for ATI :p

Strong words from Anand but pretty honest, no punter is gonna get a GTX for £350 and then think oh letme get the Ultra its only another 200 quid more for 5fps more :eek:

Worst part is its still 768meg :eek: should have been 1gig at that price....

Heres hoping ATI do a better job next week in 1.5 weeks time.

so.... now that NV has screwed up both its buget low end section cards in the 8600s, and no pumped out this obcenely priced overclocked 8800GTX in the Ultra...... is there going to be any better time for ATI to hit out and score some market share?

Cmon, how many people have gone from expectant waiting for NVs nice new top of the range card, to hoping that the ATI HD2xxx series gives them something new to chew on..... here's hoping for some good overclocknig buget parts!

Yes im sure the insurmountable challenges of overclocking a chip and slapping a new cooler on it (and a retarded price tag) make designing a new core pale in comparison. :eek:

My advice is don't. Get a GTX or wait a few weeks and see if NVIDIA realise they have made a boo boo and drop the price of the product.

At the current prices I've told the manufacturers that we won't be buying any large quantities and I suspect other Etailors will do similar. So when NV see its not selling so great then they might take action.

Like getting rid of it completley.

What the hell was the point of this thing any way, they own the high end market right now and have done so since the 8 series cards came out.

They must have some pretty insane people working for them.
 
Need an 8800Ultra owners thread tbh. :p;)

I predict no posts though. most people are smart enough to not get them, anyone who has won't want to admit the sin they have committed. :D
