8800GT Stock?

Attempting to give a quick update based on the OcUK site...

Woozy
- I think your best bet would be to phone OcUK and ask if all the shipment of 400 BFG OC2 to arrive next Monday has been allocated. If not, preorder one of them.
Or the Gigabyte if you wouldn't mind a vanilla card, though only 2 are left by now.
Or if that fails, get the BFG OC.

PNY and OcUK brands will be here tomorrow/Monday or by Friday next week respectively.

Because Evga... there's no confirmed date. I'd have gotten the Evga myself hadn't it been for that.

I do not want a vanilla as theres no guarantee they can go as high as the pre done ones

i already pre-ordered the EVGA SC on the 30th Oct. So cannot pre order any others

I have had no replys about if i could be allocated a zotac and this was after a webnote was sent to OCUK pretty much soon after they were added to the site

I have also had no reply about if OCUK will send me out a BFG OC2 or Zotac Amp even though I have sent webnotes

its the not replying that i find frustrating

and to me it has been a super anxious wait as i originally sold a BFG OC2 GTS so i could get the GT on ebay which i was a victim of fraud and lost the card and the final amount totalling £500 in loss due to the buyers account being hacked.

And i have had a bad cold this week so could do with cheering up this weekend with a nice Zotac, BFG OC2 or EVGA SC

plllllleeeeease :)

You're right there.

You can. I had pre-ordered the EVGA SC on the 8th November. Changed it a couple of days later to the BFG OC2. According to Gibbo's post here posted today:

Gibbo,

Will the 400x BFG OC2's clear the pre-orders or will there be some still left waiting?

Hi there

We have 307 of those pre-sold, so a few left over which will no doubt not last very long once the website shows in stock status.

That means I am before the number 307 since I placed my order well before today. So you can call them, ask them whether all preorders have been allocated for the OC2 and if not, place your order.

I have had no replys about if i could be allocated a zotac and this was after a webnote was sent to OCUK pretty much soon after they were added to the site
Forget the zotacs now. All the pre-orders have been allocated. Neither of us got one.

I have also had no reply about if OCUK will send me out a BFG OC2 or Zotac Amp even though I have sent webnotes its the not replying that i find frustrating
Phone them. At least you might.... I couldn't :(

You're right but I would insist with paypal and ebay to get justice done. After all you had no fault if the buyer's account was hacked. Get a lawyer's advice and if he says you are right, proceed. They might just be playing ignorant so that you don't pursue the case further and give them trouble...

And i have had a bad cold this week so could do with cheering up this weekend with a nice Zotac, BFG OC2 or EVGA SC

Well, after all you've been through who wouldn't wish that you get some cheering up? ;)

Last note - no pressure, if you've really got your heart set on an EVGA, wait for it and at the end you'd be happy... :)

I have received a webnote right now.

"Dear Mr Galea, Thank you for your webnote. It is impossible for me to tell you how many cards we are getting of the cards. I would stick with the BFG order."

It seems hence that OcUK have been ordering much more cards, plenty more to satisfy the demand. But apparently they've been ordering for example 100, and at the end receiving 50.

Obviously by now we know from Gibbo that the Zotac's which were promised to be sent have all been allocated, so that solves my case and I'd definitely be sticking with the BFG OC2.

But I'd guess that reply applies not only to me, and that's the reason I'm posting it here.

For the record, as I'm typing this there are still 5 Gainwards and 1 Gigabyte in stock right now...

Guys I can get a PNY 8800 GT 512MB (in stock) for: 155 incl. vat and shipping here in the netherlands. Would that be worth it or should I wait till mid december for new GTS (if they come)

Of course they are guaranteed to overclock just as good, all the cards come off the same production line in the same factory, one after the other, then they just slap BFG/EVGA/Gainward etc... stickers all over em, so what if card number 1x comes of the production line and has a BFG sticker slapped on it, and card number 2x that rolls off 2 seconds behind it has Asus slapped on it, is it really guaranteed to not overclock like the card that fell off 2x seconds before it that had a BFG sticker slapped on it instead of Asus, IS IT BALLS, hope your waiting years for em, your own faults for not buying the same cards that are in stock now with different stickers on em. :D

I want Asus one like you because it comes with a cool game. :D Actually - might go for the POV one.

Uhh, well, factory-overclocked cards are tested and guaranteed to work at that OC. The vanilla GT is 600/1800 but if you buy an OC2 you'd get a guaranteed 675/1950. If you buy a stock card you might or you might not be able to oc it to a STABLE 675/1950... unlike pre-oc'd cards.

Then as to what sticker they slap on the card, whether oc'd or not, it makes a difference regards the reputation of the company, their customer service and the warranty they offer. Some brands are notorious for not being as lenient in customer care as others, other brands offer 1 year, 3 year, 10 year warranties etc... then for example EVGA offer the step-up program where you can purchase the next-gen card at a reduced price within 90 days.

So yes, factory oc'd or not does make a difference. And the brand you purchase makes a difference as well.

Card number 1x comes off the line has EVGA slapped on it and gets clocked to whatever, card number 2x rolls off 2 seconds behind it and has say MSI slapped onto it, but gets left at stock speeds, now whos to say that its not guaranteed to clock to the speeds of the EVGA card that came off 2 seconds before it, what if card number 1x had MSI slapped onto it, and card number 2 had an EVGA sticker slapped onto it instead, now hows that card number 2 now guaranteed to be clocked to whatever because its now got EVGA slapped onto it instead. :p

Your all just to picky, whinging for weeks and weeks about having to wait for 20 years for a card, when the same bloody cards are sitting there in stock day in day out just with different names on.

Explain this then :o

Rather than the reference 600MHz core, 900MHz Memory and 1500MHz shader; Zotac are using 700/1000/1700 respectively, which should give an impressive performance advantage over other models.
One final point is that the memory on the Zotac card is Qimonda HYB18H512321BF-10. These chips are rated up to 1.0GHz which means they are running within specification. In the past we have seen manufacturers use heavily overclocked (out of specification) chips on their special edition cards, so the fact Zotac have went for higher quality memory modules deserves special mention.

That's just awesome. Considering that EVGA's in California, and MSI's in China isn't it? ;)
