8Pack super fast smash the rest i5 Skylake Overclocked, Discounted killer GAMING bundle.

Skylake is drawing very little power. It's designed as a mobile chip as everyone knows..

I never run speed step on any of my own systems..

R11.5 and R15 are both current on hwbot where I bench so for me either is fine.

I will run R15 tomorrow.

Power usage would be nice to know for someone like me that likes to run a pc 24/7. so total system power usages in watts would be great to know to see how much its going to cost to run all year round.

Sorry wrong thread thought it was the i3 thread

This is good news, back to bclk overclocking. Anyone with enough money can overclock a k series chip with a few clicks. Now there is a way to spend less and achieve a satisfying result through bclk and voltage control.

Who really cares if the on board graphics don't work or a few other CPU properties are disabled.

Skylake is the most refreshing Intel release since before 2500 / 2600 on this basis but with much improved performance to go with it. An overclocked £150 i5 or a £250 i7, hopefully Intel do not revert or block this in the next release.

I run my rig 24/7 and don't care. It's a mobile chip man. But I will briefly test.

Good points above :-)

For those interested the bundle with low end GPU which will burn very little is pulling 88w from the wall at idle and 140 Peak during Prime non AVX stress testing. So this bundle without speed step still very energy efficient.

If it will fit a 120 fan. Then yes it will fit.

Just checked for sure fits.

Well I was about to hit the buy button then I noticed that selecting the AIO cooler adds £40 to the cost over the Brocken. Why is this when the AIO is only £18 more expensive to buy separately? surely the fan doesn't cost £22?

The system does not add a discounted item to a bundle automatically. Ie a discount on a discount. This would have to be done manually.
