Hi it's me again :)

I've just installed another 2 stick of memory and the system became very unstable, freezing on the desktop and wouldn't restart pressing the button on the case. I tried increasing dram voltage to 1.3v but that didn't help. Took them back out and all is fine again. Is there any settings I could change to get them to work? If not do you think I would be able to send them back for a refund?

I originally only had 2 X 4GB of Fury black So today I installed another 8GB set of the same sticks

The more sticks of memory mean the IMC (memory controller) has to work harder to run things stable.

Hence 2 sticks are usually better for overclocking, compared to 4, etc.

You can probably get things stable with 4 sticks, with increased voltage, or lower timings/speed on the actual memory.

Ok so 4x4gb is working fine.

Go into bios and default so F7 for advanced then F5 enter. F10 plus enter to restart.

Now back into bios set XMP and the following only.

Go into windows and test stability to check mem is fine.

Keep the settings you already made and set up the rest of the bios like this.

F10 plus enter to save and reboot. Again test in Windows. Obviously each CPU will need different Vcore to reach 4400mhz. This one 1.35v or so. Upto 1.425v may be needed so test this.

Here is one hour real bench testing of these settings for stability:

well I tried your settings and even upped them a little after that failed, the system is even freezing/crashing in the bios now. Maybe the memory is faulty? I'll test the other set on it's own tomorrow and see. I even put the vcore to 1.4v but that didn't help.

Just test XMP as I said with CPU at stock first. You may have a faulty stick yes. But it could also be some element of the OC.

Well I tested the other set on their own at stock and overclocked and they seem fine.
I tried all 4 sticks at stock and it's a little more stable, but the system blue screened on me after a full run of the heaven benchmark I then upped the voltages a little and tried again, The Heaven benchmark just froze and failed to complete.

I'm now back to 2 sticks using the newer 2nd set and back to 4.4Ghz.

any ideas?
