You mean the product description in a big red box below the disclaimer that said description is there for reference only and any mention of warranties is to be ignored? :P

No I mean the main B grade gfx page that has each individual non red box stating the full warranty period.

You need to ask yourself why doesn't every gpu CLEARLY state 90 day warranty instead?;)

Add the fact that the 90 day disclaimer 'could' be perceived as a banner advert.

Trading standards would likely inform OcUK to advertise more clearly with an exact 90 day warranty description in each and every item if they were to get informed.:)

amazingly the opposite is also being said in this very thread.....

amazing how i bench about 20 of my own games last week with a 290 and my 970 :D

the 970 was faster in literally everything. if it wasn't it would have gone back for a refund and i would have got a 290x. its that simple :p

4k is irrelevant as it cant really be played with any card available nevermind 970 or 290s.

really? RTS games , MMO , in fact anything that's not FPS plays nicely on 1 card in 4k....

I'm playing quite a few games at 3200x1800P on a single 290, i wouldn't do it for online multiplayer FPS games but for single player there are a number of games that run pretty sweet at 4K or near enough. :)

Card's got a lot of muscle.

depends on what you deem fine fps doesnt it .

i only go for 60 fps or settings dropped. 30 fps is a slide show lol :p

Maybe on your cards :p

Metro 2033 gets more than 30 FPS, its not 60 but somewhere inbetween, even Metro LL is pretty smooth with a little reduced IQ.

Dirt3 never falls below 60 FPS maxed out, Dirt Showdown is pretty good, Grid 2 also still pretty good.

FarCry 3....

A lot of the popular Play 4 Free games run really nice at those resolutions.

I could go on all day, the only games i don't go above 1440P are the mainstream games i play competitively online, Like BF4.

Dg, you're missing the point.
Nobody here is saying that it isn't slightly faster, though I would question whether anyone could tell the difference without an onscreen counter.

The point is to do with the nonsense assertion that it's some kind of big leap above the competition in terms of outright performance. It simply isn't, unless you're talking about a game/bench that heavily favours one side, or if you think a small handful of fps = "slaughters".

Small insignificant FPS advantages have been used by proponents of AMD GPU's for years, I got tired of telling people that things like noise, heat output and software support are more important from an end user perspective when all they did was post less than 5% better benchmarks and paper specs.

shall we discuss the differences in heat output comparing the GTX 780Ti and the R9 290x yes? oh wait.....
