A 10 hour walk (the Jay Slater thread)...

Have they checked the local Wickes? He probably went there to buy a new machete.

If only he did'nt use it to attack someone, then the police wouldn't have taken it off him.
Maybe he could have taken it with him on holiday and use it to cut down the cacti so he won't be stuck in one at the moment.

Being dehydrated / hung over and on a massive come down probably from drug use but he must be a grade A moron not to just follow the bus route on foot. Flat tarmac road with a chance of passing motorist etc. Looks like he tried a shortcut through rough terrain and got rekt.

Tbh if it was a 10 hour walk. Better to just sleep/wait where you are than trying to walk.

Would probably have been confiscated at the airport scanner though, so a locally sourced one would have always been needed. If they don't have a Wickes on Tenerife surely they have a Screwfix, he's probably there.

Yet far easier than walking through mountainous terrain unprepared and without water. That's suicidal.

Only excuse for not just waiting is that he's so off his face he couldn't think straight.

Otherwise he's just an absolute idiot. To be honest. Both are pretty idiotic.

naa.. you can get alway with all sorts of stuff in your main luggage as long as it's not legal in the country you are going to and then it's their issue to remove the item from you.
I know people who purchased a full set of swords and they just popped them in the luaggage on the way home. It's not like you can access the main luggage holder of a plane.

it does amaze me what sort of items you see in the bins just before security thou... lol..

Maybe you are onto something? Might be worth sharing it on the FB group and they can search those areas.

Someone rescued after 10 days in USA...

Sadly I don't think this guy is quite so resourceful, also he got into trouble on a trail a few hundred meters from the road, that he bizarrely decided to go on after seemingly growing impatient waiting for a bus.

I suspect he's going to be found within like 5 miles of the AirBnb he'd just left.
