A battlefield2 thread

Can anyone give me any tips on how using the bombers or know any guides? I only use mouse and keyboard but I don't think that's my problem. Basically after a couple of hours of practice I have become a confident jet pilot and can now shoot other planes, land and just generally have the ability to avoid crashing into sea when taking off. However, for the love of good I can't hit anything with bombs. I mean the main problem is that in cockpit view you can't even see where your bombs are hitting so can't really learn from mistakes as such. So can anyone help me out here with maybe some numbers like the right altitude/distancet etc?

wow u can land? i explode everytime i try that lool. im pretty good at flying, and its rare for me to get shot down (only when im lazy and dont bother avoiding the lock on me :p), but i too struggle sometimes with bombing, sometimes i can nail the sucker on the AA gun every 30seconds constantly untill he gives up and nail cars, tanks and loads of people, or i miss tanks and flag targets non stop. can be pretty hit or miss :/ you can after u drop bombs, press c to change to behind view and see where they landed, but remember to climb while doing that or you will crash, cycle quickly back to front view and keep practicing.

There's a sort of crosshair for where your bombs are gonna land, say you're flying perfectly parallel with the ground (assuming it's flat), start letting loose your bombs just before your target reaches the cross on the bomb display, should work.

Another (and more effective I found) way of doing it is to fly up high and dip your nose right down towards an enemy flag, flag you're defending, or where you think there's a tank. If you're flying directly towards the floor your bombs are gonna land just below where you're headed.

The second one is the most effective for taking out armor or bombing a specific spot, the first is better for taking out infantry or light vehicles in a wide area.

I've configured a side button on my mouse to change to external view. If you use that, you can see behind you and where your bombs have landed. Also, I've got the spacebar as pull back, means you dont have to keep pulling the mouse down to pull up.

i dont like the fact you can, say, go into the 3rd person view in a jeep and then see and enemy over a gate or wall then get out and throw a c4 over it and get them that way. everyone can do it though, so i suppose its ok

The problem with the external view when you are trying to C4 someone in a tank (which is probably the most satisfying thing that you can do in BF2) is that they can now see you coming up behing them and planting the C4. WHich ruins the whole business.

i think EA should make a patch that removes the use of all external views. this way it would make the game more realistic and more fair

Don't mind if they add mirrors ¬_¬

I also find it quite weird that you can't look around cockpit when in aircraft and especially in choppers when trying to land in those tight spots or capturing a flag.

Well at least make it a server option to remove external views. They do that in pacific fighters.

Of course ranked servers would always have external views but who cares.

Do u do this in bf2 or is it in windows to make the changes??

I'm sure this has been posted before but can't justify looking through 154 pages :)

How to I find out how many FPS BF2 is running at? Is there a demo or command line string I can use?

Thanks :)

I know this been said before but too many pages to look through. How do i change the resolution above 1280x960? I know it's some sort of shortcut change but can't remember it.
