Have a look for the BF2 mini-iso (or instructions on how to make one from your DVD) It has all the copy protection stuff on it, but none of the game files, so you can just mount a small ~8MB image into a virtual drive and play away :)
 
how many of you guys have joined 50klicks.com, I decided to sign up as I enjoy playing on their servers, I normally see at least 2-3 ocuk'ers on there,, Thing is what benefit do you actually get from joining up?? Im still unable to play on their password protected servers and still find it hard to find a vacant slot most times I try,, they have a good thread with girly pics in though,lol ;)

Becoming a Member of 50k entitles you to ask for a kick when needed.
On the front of there site they have a chat box thats well monitored. They will make space on a server for members or will kick troublesome players.
More than this they maintain a friendly gaming atmosphere throughout whether it be on the site, server or Forums.
A nice Bunch of Lads. :cool:
 
The servers are only passworded for clan games (tagged players only) and private games for any member of the 50k community to sign up for) yea the only time we're ever nasty is when we kick smacktards off the server.
 
Has anyone on here ever played bf2 for money, I was told by someone I know that you can play for money? He wasnt very clear about it and said its his friend who does it :rolleyes: but said everyone who plays, paypals an amount to an appointed superviser and the top 10 players of the winning team win an amount depending on their end of game rank,, ive never heard of it and cant see how you could eliminate chopper whores from winning the cash all the time but wouldnt be a bad idea if it worked and you like a bit of a gamble. :)
 
never heard of the gambling bit. and tbh it sounds a bit crap.
but i suppose if you get to know the people who are doing it, then its no biggy
 
I think theres some thing someone set up so you pay this company and then they pay you to play on there clients servers...

I am really not to sure on it tho.


Edit: OH yeah and I was just playing on the 50k server with another oc'er, I forget his name now but we were in the top of the scoreboards a lot of the time :). But there wasnt much going on in the teamwork department.
 
My teamwork score recently shot through the roof. On that map with a Middle Eastern burnt out town that MEC controls and the US has to storm (what's its name?) someone was spamming grenades in an alleyway and I was ressing people all over the shop. Plenty of deaths as well though :(
 
Still having issues with more than one account. My partner's son's been using mine (got me a damn purple cross - thought we were doing well not to have got one as complete newbs and 3/4's of the way to sergant), until someone here said it was possible to have more than one.

So my account works fine when logged in on my XP profile. Login in as his XP profile and neither his nor my BF2 accounts work. Get an invalid CD key message. Log back onto my XP profile and all's fine and dandy. Try his BF2 account from my XP profile and get invalid cd key again.

Any ideas? Corrupt profile/s?

Edit: Medic's seem to rack up points quite easily. Sid, were you inspired by Errol?

I think if you go into the my documents folder and then duplicate the BF folder thats in there for all you login accounts your problem shall be fixed

only teamwork ive seen on there was when i was whoring the chopper and getting a billion driver assists and support points.
their server needs to be 64 players, with 50 its too empty.

Im not being lazy, ive done a search and been reading various bf2 sites but cannot find out exactly how to unlock the fn2000 gun in sf so i can then use in vanilla bf2??, There are many contradictions, one bf2 site I read said you must unlock all assault class guns before it becomes available, the other site I read said all spec op guns must be unlocked :confused: when I load up SF BFHQ I cannot even see it in the unlock gun pics,, The reason im getting exited is I managed to steal one of a player tonight, only for a few secs and thought it was awesome, I think I get 2 unlocks at 5000 global points and hoping to unlock it,, thanks guys
 
i got fed up tonight, trying out being an engineer, Laid mines and then your own team members just drive over them and you get a negative score, got on my wick a bit. Still enjoying the game though. Not playing anything else at the moment. Just BF2, which is just great. Hate artillary though, Dont know where to look as a engineer to see what needs doing to mount my points up
