Hrmmm a noob Lance Corporal here... almost getting as many kills as deaths now ;o)

Just tried to wander onto 50k with the IP's set a few posts back... and no joy. It password protected or can anyone join in and get killed?

i joined up no problems here. it could be clan training or a meet up or something though. try again when you next can i guess

lol I got my first bronze medal yesterday though playing as a medic

Sometimes I go on and my connection just completely fails so i end up lagging like a mofo =-/

I'm going on 50k now

which server did you try & join, if it was the 32slot city map server it's actually running Special Forces this weekend. the 50slot server is still running vanilla BF2 tho & will be doing 24/7.

Commander points is the average teamscore at the end of the round...

You don't really need to do anything to get points, though if you ignore requests you might get mutiny'd.

I think before the recent patches, dropping arty and UAVs and things got you points? Not sure.

I used to be a mad commander, but I rarely do it any more. I prefer to be a medic - it's really easy to get 100+ scores by being a mad-medic on Karkand or Mashtuur, especially 64 players.

If u have a firewall hardware/software read the readme and open all the ports stated.

I was just coming on to have another rant actually as i got 'Nextwork connection data corrupt' errors and 'Your connection to the server has been lost' 3 times in a row whilst trying to connect to 50klicks =-/

I'm forwarding the ports not, it's an awful lot of ports to open though

Just having an OcUK fest with Stellios, Errol and someone else I forget his name, ZipLock or something? Then boom! Connection lost.

May look at opening those ports on me HW firewall.

Aye i've just peed around with my firewall again, i was trying to connect when the map changed to gulf of oman when i received a kick message saying i'd been kicked for exessive team killing or as the result of a vote :confused:

I hadn't team killed anyone or given any reason to upset anyone! Ghey.

Thats the message given for a kick regardless of what you did wrong if anything. If its a clan server and your not part of the clan then they were probably just making space, would be nice if they gave that reason beforehand but not everyone has a script to do that.

Er dumb question. I just got promoted and according to various sites I get a weapons unlock at this level. How do I go about unlocking a weapon?

He certainly does as a medic. Was in a squad with him a couple of days ago, in a full chopper, me as an engineer and man were we deadly - never seen so many kills going on. We only crashed once when I couldn't repair fast enough...

Hi all, I am loving this game. But a few things im not 100% sure about.

I understand what a medic, anti tank and engineer has to do to gain points, as done some of them and gained the badges etc as well as "support" but what does assault, Special ops and sniper have to do to get points etc. Oh and I hate artillary (sp) always seems to blow me up and throw me across the map. Other than that I love this game. So much better than CS:S.

Special op: Blow up strategic objects (enemy arty, UAV, Scanner etc)
Assault: Kill people
Sniper: Kill people providing support for other ground forces

Don't forget that it is the duty of the assault class to wind up the opposition by shooting grenades at their feet from about 6 feet away.
