A battlefield2 thread

Hello one and all

ME and some friends have just got are own Ranked BF2 Server.....thought I would share the IP as I need people to play on it

IP address is 85.133.16.45:16587..still playing with settings etc

We have a web site at www.Lan-GM.com (we run Lan Parties in Essex) so hop on sometime :)

2nd round the teams were 32 v 17 against me :o

No attempt was made to even them until only one flag remained. Then it was die repeatedly as you attempt to spawn with 25+ enemy at your flag :mad:

Sometimes the game really does suck but it does depend on the crowd.

They should have addressed auto balancing like 10 years ago u wouldnt hardly belive these guys even double clicked on quake1.exe

Ive noticed bf2 does sometimes work with auto balance and also the top scorer/s can be moved to the other side to help them out like.. which is good but need to see that more and working yet.

And yeah base rape is still there like wake island map u may not even get a game on if the other side spawn to end of the map and get in the jeep/tank with snipers and just gaurd all or just consistantly take out the transport heli loaded with half your team mates every minute.... I dont see that as very fair at all maybe simplest things like 2 attack helis or another transporter heli on the ship could give better/fairer odds but nope.

Still dont like the way the weapons unlock on other expansions that u gotta pay for, ive noticed a few servers are now just unranked just to be fair so everyones on default weapons, sure its boring but hey its fair....

I seem to get switched a lot, but Im not a plane w*&$£; its quite irritating for about 5sec :)

Ive seen the same strategy of making an expansion an essential purchase to compete, in Sony online entertainment's Star Wars Galaxies; I dont appreciate it. It makes sence to do it but I would rather they didnt.

The original BF1942 was the same, the sequels just were not as playable as the main game; although their wasnt that beefed up weapon thing.

I have made do with the shotguns mainly to even it up, although I picked up an f2000 recently and it made the kills a lot easier, especially with that noob tube.

I dont like that gun now, using the scope its just mot accurate. Much prefer the M16/M203 and the AK equivalent.

Found some class spots on karkand the other day where the other teams meet, had some great fun with the grenade launcher. Came out with about 30 kills alone on the GL.
 
I just got asked to leave from a server for pulling off a 'impossible' headshot with my sniper rifle.

:(

It wasnt impossible as I pulled it off.

Some guys dont like getting beat yewan.

BTW that cable you asked me about for your sidewinder. Its just a 2 pin mains lead like the ones you get for cassette players / radios / Ghetto Blasters etc.

Ok, in the next hour or so im gonna reach my next rank and second unlock.

I already have the Spec Ops gun (i assume there's only one), and thats pretty much what i am all the time, so what gun should i go for next?

I was a medic once upon a time, but i fell in love with C4, mines are good too, but stupid team mates step on em and then punish you, so which other class has C4?
 
well guys, further my posts a while back about installation problems with SF2, I am still getting the same problem 'cdkeycheck.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close'.

I've tried all the registry deleting, patching upto 1.22 b4 install, non patch install.

No matter what I try I just can't get SF to install, I'm very dissapointed. I sent a ticket to EA about this about 2 weeks ago, got no response whatsoever.

I've had numerous suggestions about the order I should install in, and none of the things that have worked for others work for me. What bothers me most is that I paid £20 for the expansion pack, can't use it, there is no way to get my money back either.

EDIT: JUST GOT IT TO INSTALL, I HAD TO USE THIS FILE BEFORE INSTALL OF SF,

NOW IT'S INSTALLED, JUST PATCHING TO 1.22, THANKS FOR THAT LINK TO THE SITE T&T, THE NEXT PAGE HAD THE LINK, SO I THOUGH WHAT THE HELL!!!!

Not played this much lately for various reasons but been suffering crashes to desktop. Anybody else been having trouble? (since the last patch I presume?)

shame just dont have the passion for BF2 and it shows on the battlefield :(

Excellent... SF weapons too I assume? Been looking for a server to test weapons on before I unlock them :)
