True, but you can only play 16 player maps and some of the maps aren't available at all. There is a coop mod which has all of the standard maps in 64 player, a couple in 32 player and of course the missing 16 player ones. The quicker your comp is the more bots you can add, I ran 22 of them with no real performance hit.

Its great fun watching bots use lots of planes and helicopters, they are still pretty mean on the AA too thats why we set it up as I just got my Helicopter Service ribbon and my helo Specialist ribbon at the weekend and decided to learn to fly instead of being infantry for a change of scenery. :)

Agreed. People who deserve respect dont get it, like people who have 100% accuracy with the rifles and stuff
 
There are loads of other maps you can get and play online. They only problem is finding a server that runs them. Any server running custom maps cannot be ranked, and as most people like to get points, there are very few custom map servers to be found.

The points thing is great, but it will probably kill the long term future of the game. Mods and custom maps are what people coming back after the basic maps have gone stale, but BF2 is totally setup and run to discourage them :(

EDIT, well Ive downloaded the patch, gonna play in a bit, you have to make a copy of your BF2 folder, which for me was almost 3gb, so make sure you have space!

Not sure if i will continue to play the game anymore. Can be quite frustrating getting killed all the time with other guys killing me with one shot when i shoot at them and they kill me first!! The game is very repetitive too. Same old thing all the time.

ha, give it a chance, i felt the same way, still do some times, but after a while youll get into it.
 
just like to add about 1.4 patch, if you have modified your bf2 exe, rename it back to bf2.exe or the game wont work :)

You just have to practice more? Maybe you are missing some of your shots, or are standing out in the open or something. It's not quake!
