Well, myself and my dad have a nice day out tomorrow, im going out @ 11:30 to test out my Mini, then afterwards, my dads BMW 1 Series, then what I am REALLY looking forward to, Vauxhall Astra VXR XD

Any handy info on the Astra VXR folks? dad has 21k to spend, so other suggestions would be welcome..

Other cars he's looking at are the Renault Megane Sport and the Volvo S40
 
My friend recently got a brand new vxr. Payed about 23k with every extra, a few months later its only wotrth 16k tops! Dont buy one 1st hand unless youve got money to burn. Lovely car thou

He does have it to burn, 3 year company car then they give him 30k for the next one :D
 
Golf GTI is boring and not really comparable to the likes of an Astra VXR....

I'd say a low mileage ST220...
 
New ST220 approx 17k, new ST TDci approx 16k from bymynewcar I think.

Or even better Megane R26 230 for 14,799 ;)

If he's looking at Hot Hatches, for the love of god, tell him to go try them all..

I personally love the VXR but having driven the Focus ST, Megane and Golf, I think they will all appeal to different people..

But if I had £21K for a new car, there are Impreza's (STI Import?) that would also be high on my list!!..

I assumed he was talking 2nd hand as he said, 'low milage'. You're hardly likely to get a high milage brand new car are you?
 
is the monaro VXR much more than £21k? that's one stunning car and much, much better than the astra VXR
