I can afford it :)

So why are you having to pretend to your insurer that its your Mums car? If you can afford get it in your own name, it's better in the long run, you'll get NCB and it wont be a potential minefield if you claim. If you can't afford that, then should you really be buying a brand new car?

Again i have decided to get one thats second hand, I will be getting the NCB through Direct Line, and what are they to know? if I was randomley driving the car if i WASNT the main driver, and I have an accident, im still gonna be insured..

give up lads, he won't listen and sooner or later the OMG LOLZ GOOD GOOD INSURANCE POLICE brigade will arrive and demonstrate they are totally oblivious of the fact that the cost of people pretending they drive their Mums car is funded by... yup, the rest of us.

Besides, my opinion is worthless, I drive a car 'above my station' whereas a financed Mini in your Mums name is just fine :p

Ah, through insurance fraud then. Nice!
I can afford it
No you can't, or you wouldn't be fiddling the insurance

You won't be getting "proper" NCB, just some that's only recognised by Direct Line themselves and useless elsewhere.
and what are they to know? if I was randomley driving the car if i WASNT the main driver, and I have an accident, im still gonna be insured..
If you want to commit insurance fraud then that's your business but please don't try to convince the rest of us that's it's all above board and perfectly acceptable.

As for them never knowing, you might be surprised how much they'll dig to avoid a large payout and if they do discover you're the main driver, they'll be perfectly entitled to tell you where to go.

No you won't, it's worthless unless you stick with them.

Do you think they were born yesterday? I'm pretty sure that when a young driver has an accident while named, the insurance company dig deep, especially when a payout's going to cost them a lot of money. I guess your mum has another car of her own, probably insured separately etc. etc., they deal with cases like this day in, day out, and will know exactly what to look for.
