A & E on a Saturday night

How busy is it likely to be in a small city like Aberdeen at around 23:30? I got half an earplug stuck in my ear when I was pulling it out and it broke....like an idiot I tried various things to get the damn thing out and now my ear is bleeding somewhat.

Will it be full of drunk people screaming and puking? Will I have a four hour wait?

You could stop by a filling station on the way and use the air line in the other ear. /J

I was in A&E this morning, it was pretty quiet.
How bad is it? You should have probably a good few hours anyway!

I've took someone during regular hours before and it took hours so I can only imagine Friday and Saturday night are hellish, especially later on.

Me and my girlfriend went to Aberdeen Foresterhill A&E on account of her badly spraining her ankle (swelled to the size of a balloon in minutes) and we were there from 2am to around 6am.

And yeah, lot's of dunks, police visited around once an hour or so.

I use earplugs sometimes when my mum's bitching on the phone next door, but they're so strong, how the hell can they break?

I had this exact same thing. It was on a week day, so I just went and saw the nurse at my GP's, and she got some tweezers and hooked it out.

Had to do a sodding live BBC Breakfast interview with it in there and all.

A&E is likely to be pretty busy tonight I'd have thought, can you wait til the morning and go to an NHS walk in centre maybe?

Aren't all Scottish NHS parking sites free now? You need to get down there pronto, OP, to avoid any undue complications. You may have a trip to the ENT department coming up as well.

e : call NHS 24 using http://www.nhs24.com/content/default.asp?page=s4 You'll speak to a nurse who can advise on whether you need to be seen tonight or whether it can wait.

Foam/silicone ones, the ones that you twist and then put in. They suck in pretty hard so I've had a few break in the past but I just pulled them out with tweezers. This time it seems to have sucked itself in too far.

Probably find it'll pick up around 2/3 when kicking out from the clubs starts and all the fights start.

Generally speaking you've quite a wait, especially with the weather as of late, but just go and get it done.

Make up some crap about a headache and incontinence and you should skip the queue :eek:

If you wait for morning then you deserve everything you get. Go to A&E or the emergency doc's. I doubt you will be there THAT long as it is a relatively simple problem not requiring x-ray etc.
