A Level Results Day - Eeek

People who say A-levels are easy are having a laugh

If anything I found them more difficult than my first two years at Uni

I got BDE which is pretty horrific, still got me into the uni course I wanted though. Saying that, the point requirement is significantly higher for my course now and I'd have no chance applying :p

Best of luck to everyone!

I've got my results tomorrow too,

So you've already got them but you're getting them tomorrow?

:o

If you found A Levels easier than uni then you must have done one heck of a crap degree.

I think i'm going to end up with:

A - Maths
A - Further Maths
D or less - Economics

Should hopefully let me get on a maths degree at a good Uni :o

My degree requires a lot more work and research but I wouldn't say the actual workload is more difficult. I study Film and Television which must be a lot easier than say physics or maths but I can assure you I am in a lot more and have a lot more preparation work for films (getting actors, writing scripts, props, costumes, organizing locations, travel, food, crew etc) I also have 3 essays a year and 2 separate modules such as professional development.

I did German at A level though, hardly an easy A-level. I missed a C by 1 mark and got an A* in my speaking whilst playing WOW all the time :o

My uni is reknown for being the best for the degree I study alongside Bournemouth. So no, my degree isn't crap....

GCSEs for me tomorow next week :)

BYO?

They honestly don't.

Once you're in to a uni no one could care less about A-Levels and/or GCSE's other than the fact you have Maths and English at C or higher @ GCSE.

In fact the majority of jobs won't even care what grade you get from your degree, more the fact that you have one.

You could say that, but if you dont get the grades you need you cant get into uni or the one you want to go to, so really they could determine what we get into for the rest of our lives...:(I am expecting them tomorrow too:(

A-Levels Results day is epic, the quantity of skirt going out to party over the next few days is going to be massive. Target rich environment!

What uni degree did you take, the advanced bus travel one?

Ah I can see you lasting long on these forums....

No. If you read back you'd have enough intelligence to know exactly what I study. I also justified my reasoning as to why I found A levels more difficult.

Whilst I'm at it, what are you doing with your life that is so brilliant?

A levels. maybe its exactly what it says on the tin now. i.e. everyone get an A level grade

I bet i could even get an A now!

Why did I even bother replying? You're a joke

Don't worry. Get the grades then move on. GCSEs mean sweet FA once it comes to A-levels, and once into uni and on a good degree A-levels mean sweet FA. Then once you have a degree and have got yourself a job, the degree means sweet FA andyou won't use 90% of the stuff you have learned anyway.

Have fun anyway, and get drunk as soon as the pubs open :D

Mostly down to German(only 2 people in my class, bloody intense) and Psychology (not that it was difficult, it was just the most boring subject I've ever sat)

Whilst I can't say I have studied those subjects, I did well in my A levels and the jump in standards when you reach degree level, from my experiences, is absolutely galactic.

That isn't to say that A levels were not a challenge at the time - I found them stressful. I certainly think they are the exams which put the most pressure upon you as they are the gateway to university.

lol at how worked up some people are getting. Personally i did a BTEC as i knew a levels would be too hard, ended up doing ok and getting into the uni i wanted.

Wouldnt say im doing too brilliant, been in IT admin job for almost 3 months. Pays the bills and just happy that ive got a job at the moment to be honest

Hmm I'll be the first to admit I don't study the most difficult degree in terms of Intelligence.

I can understand your point though, maybe it's just german that is throwing me off.

For example I did media studies for an A level and our essay was 1,500 words (only one for the two years) and our productions were absolutely awful. (only took 3/4 hours to shoot)

At uni level shoots take at least 24 hours (non stop filming for 6 weeks) and our essays are 3,000 (3 a year) words and a lot more challenging in terms of research and quality.

Saying all that I'm about to go into my final year. I'm sure it will only get harder.
