A-Level Results.

I.T AVCE: C
Biology: D
History: E

Top bombing :D
I could have pulled top grades but due to the fact i was a lazy git i coasted along and got just over what i needed, i was only expecting a CEE which is what i needed so to come out with anything better is a bonus although there still not a good mark of my ability, but il live :D :D :D

Got what I expected really, not relying on them for anything much anyhow.

Electronics- B
Music tech - C
Physics (though this is an AS) - E

Last year I did ICT AS and got an E, so thought i'd try something else this year and, alas, also gained an E :p

A/S:

English - C,C,D - Overall - C
English Lit - B,E,D - Overall - D
Business - E,D,D - Overall - D
ICT - D,D,D - Overall - D
General Studies - D,U,U - Overall - FAIL <<< Dont really care though at this point.

Still, better than i thought i'd get to be honest. English Lit was 3 marks of being an overall C which would have been really nice but hey...

/Buckles up for next year....

Glad my school doesn't offer it then

Most uni's don't even accept it, but the one I applied to does.

Most of the time you can just enter for the exam without going to any classes!

Free ucas points!!

for my business i got 419 marks and is a C according to the back of my sheet it says 420 is required for it to be a B is it worth asking for a re mark hoping i get a extra mark somewhere?

You say that, but there are people in here failing it. I agree it's not really worth as much as an A Level in a normal subject, and that a lot of Unis won't recognise it, but you're not really in a position to rubbish a subject as easy or otherwise unless you're capable of doing well in it yourself.

General Studies is an odd subject. I got a C overall in my AS. In 2 modules I got As and in the other one I got a U . The questions are wildly ambiguous and there were several grammar and spelling mistakes in the papers I did.

Critical thinking is hardly any better really, it all seems very subjective. I got a B overall in Crit Thinking AS.

What exactly does it entail? The name isn't exactly very descriptive

It's just "General" knowledge more or less.

There's one exam on society/ethics, one on science, and one on something else...

It really is easy pickings, I walked in to the AS exam with absolutely no preparation and got a D (should've been higher really) so....

When I did it there was one paper on society/ethics, one on science/maths and a modern foregin language paper (I thought you could chose German, French or Spanish).

I actually think it's quite a good idea and proves that students are a bit more well rounded, particularly say someone who has taken all arty A Levels and needs to prove they are generally competant in a few other areas.

It is perhaps not quite tough enough, and most Unis won't accept it, but in principal I think it's a good idea.

If your school offers it you may as well do it. If I recally correctly we didn't have regular classes for it, just litterally a one hour long last minute session for each of the papers.

I got an A, although the pass rates and grades didnt seem to be distributed particularly different to any other subject.

I'm sorry, but someone calling something "easy pickings" after getting a D is a bit rich. Easy pickings is coming to it with no preparation and getting an A or B imho. You even admit you should have got higher.

If you do general studies, don't agree with marxx. They mark you down XD

A in most units and a U in my marxist rant paper. Awesome.

GRATS EDEXCEL!!

Well I got an E in my AS Level General Studies because I didn't got to any A Level exams, and only 1 AS Exam so i'm impressed with that .

Then here comes the kick in the rear, I got enough points to get me a PPP in my BTEC then Edexcel decided to ring college and say "students are only allowed to fail 2 of the units" I failed 3...... great

So my teacher calls me up on the mobile and tells me that I have 1 week from tomorrow to do Unit 14 and she will ring the Uni to explain. Oh My!

I'm willing to be money that you don't know the first thing about Marxism, so that's fairly understandable.

Well really it was just about his quote about religion being the opium for the masses...

Also, why so hostile?
