A Minecraft Movie

yeh

This will be the next minion craze!

As for me... NO THANK YOU
The Vue put a post on Facebook asking people not to do the 'social media craze' for Minecraft movie. Apparently, they had to stop the film because people clapping and cheering at everything. Ruined many peoples movie. I understand kids will be excited, I have 3 and 2 will be going to see it with me. I know for a fact they wont be the ones clapping and cheering at everything, they want to watch the bloody movie. I think we will wait a little longer before going to see it

Saw this with my 2 kids last night. 4 and 9. Both were fully entertained and laughed at lots of it. There was a couple of adult one liners too. As far as actual story/content it was a bit non existent but didn't need to be. The kids were entertained and happy when they came out after. After end credits scene means there will be a #2 for sure. I had to ask my eldest who it was as no idea of the story in Minecraft (is there one)

Stifflers mom is still hot

Not seen it yet but one of my best friends saw it last night as a family of 2 parents, 7 y/o boy + 5 y/o girl. They said they all enjoyed it. Also apparently you don't need to have played the game to know most of the references.

Just got back from a midday showing with my 2 boys (10,7).

About 30 people on there, all well behaved. 2 people made some sarcastic clap at the 'Chicken jockey' scene, which I thought was sad and funny at the same time.

Overall, a thoroughly entertaining film. Jason M was the main character for me. He played his part great, very funny. Jack B played Jack B very very well. The other cast did their part just right and Stiflers mum (Jennifer C)was great as always, the date was hilarious, mainly because of the Villagers eyebrows.
Good FX, good sound, thin script (no problem, as it served the film and its target audience), hammy acting, 10/10 from my kids and a solid 8/10 from me. Would watch again.

To add, I think they did the mobs justice. The way they designed the mobs and their movement and mannerisms was perfect. Oh and the Creeper Farm, loved that.

My lad wanted to see it, and we went this afternoon. I actually enjoyed it, and yes Jason Momoa steals it.

Bunch of kids from the other side of the cinema were escorted out, no idea why as they didn't bother us, and the pre-movie over-excited bunch behind us settled down when it began.

Overall, I don't regret going. Which was a surprise.

So, silly me. I just found out about the post credit scene. I knew there was some credit scene and there was one about 15 seconds into the credits, with the Villager and Jenny C, I thought that was it. Now I found out about one thats at the end of the credits. Guess I got to tell the kids in the morning.

Saw the 3D version and it was surprisingly good, great depth of vision and very clear and hardly any blur on action sequences.

The film was OK, plot was a collection of haphazard ideas lumped together which didnt feel that coherent, but my partners grandson enjoyed it which is the main thing.

One of my friends have seen this now and he said that people in the auditorium were chucking popcorn about at specific moments in the film and it's happening in cinemas up and down the country. Apparently it's people on TikTok filming themselves chucking popcorn, uploading to TikTok, then people copy the TikTokers in real life. Security have had to throw some people out because of this.

Why are they doing this, and why pinpoint Minecraft specifically? Will they target another / different film in future?

This read like a very old person describing how the internet and social media works :p

People have been copying social media trends for god knows how many years now. Kids have zero creativity (and aparently most adults to be fair) and love to mimic things badly they have seen online. Pretty sure thats how TikTok got popular. Kids doing stupid dances, filming themselves and sharing it. Hence why all the popular dances are super basic and require almost zero ability to dance. They are like all social media, designed to be consumed by the lowest common denominator.

The adult versions are just designed to be consumed by thirsty men who want to see hot women with few clothes on dancing.

Cheers @fez and @the shadow

It was a genuine question, not a troll post. I wasn't sure what dances were to do with this although I'm aware of the "Matilda Challenge" which was viral in early TikTok or even the Vine days and Matilda TikTok/Vine compilations got posted on YouTube. Granted people can be annoying in cinemas talking during the film and having their phones out. I was just miffed at unruly behaviour taken to a new level which seemed to be commanded by TikTok (its users) and why specifically Minecraft got targeted.

Yes I am old at 46!

Oh it wasn't a dig, it just cracked me up. Like an old person telling a story to another old person as their eyes grow wider before they say "he didn't!" :p

We went to watch this yesterday with the eldest daughter.

I like Jason Momoa and Jack Black, but Jesus, what the hell?

If it wasn't for the fact our daughter was with us, I would have walked out.
