Hi there

We have potentially a truly future proof 1440P & 2160P card when your running them in at least crossfire, 3-way recommended for 2160P. If your gaming at 1080P then a single card should be more than future proof for years to come even on the poorest console ports which could be using around 6GB of memory:

With an 8GB card you have no worries of running out of memory for a long time for sure, for 1080P one of these should be more than enough, a pair should be no issue at 1440P and OK for 2160P and three would be great for 4k gaming.

I really like the 8GB MSI but think I should just wait and see what new cards are on the horizon. When I decide to buy, it will be 2 cards and hope to keep them at least 3 years with a 1440p monitor.

I am not very patient >.<

Would totally buy the 8gb model if >4gb would ever be used in current times.

Games are using more than 4GB in current games, even at 1080P, 1440P upto 6GB usage is possible and 4k it is nearly possible to use upto 8GB.

This is today, who know what the case will be in 2-3yrs. :)

How does the MSI cooler compare to the Vapor-X? Is there much in it? I'm assuming the cards in general would perform the same? Temps would be a concern for me in X-Fire, as I've seen some people complaining of the top card getting very hot with any CF set-up.
