Is it like GRAW (gameplay wise not objectives etc)
Nope. I haven't even played GRAW and I can tell you it's not. :p

It's not an action game; it's a sim. Think huge outdoor expanses, modern day combat across open country side and in villages with combined forces (i.e. armour, infantry, air support), realistic tactics and gameplay (e.g. two or three hits gets you killed, you spend most of your time prone or running to/from cover, can't fire accurately while moving, etc.).

You rely on your team mates as much as they rely on you; there's no running around killing people. In fact, you may not even get a single kill in a mission.

I'm going on what OFP was like here by the way.

I was a big fan of OpF - nothing could beat jumping into and stealing a tractor in plain view of 3 enemy tanks and trying to escape at 5mph :D

I hope this lives up to it's predecessor.

Apart from the fact the developers regret releasing it early and the fact the english version is much more optimised its going to be well worth the wait.

It's called patching, and we've already had quite a few!

Edit: and they didn't release it early, most of Europe released it late because of publishing issues. Without these issues it would have been out last November.

This two month period of having a few thousand gamers has given them the chance to write patches for the gamers who are buying it in five days. Why would they regret that?

So in other words the Germans and Czechs who got the game earlier were essentially the guinea pigs - Thanks! I look forward to playing a bug-free version with more content. :)

Anyone know how my computer will fare with ArmA? Specs:

6800GT 256MG
AMD 3200+
1GB DDR400

According to Bohemia:

A Pentium 4 3GHz CPU, 1GB RAM and GeForce 7900GT/Radeon 1900XT is a good system to get the full experience of ArmA. But especially with graphics card - the more powerful you can have the better.

Exactly, but not only the germans and the czechs, people all over the world have been playing it for months.

Didnt like the demo, mainly because i didnt like the feel of control. Was it my control setup that was causing the jump from side to side? It felt like i had mouse acceleration turned on :(

Got my copy on pre-order, so hopefully it'll turn up Thursday or Friday. I've read a lot of optimization has been done since the demo, but how well its going to run is anyones guess. Don't think my 2700 Athlon XP, 1GB pc2700 and 6800GT are going to cope well, but i'll give it a try.

Edit: Just had an email stating that the preorder price has gone from £24.99 to £21.99, ok so its only £3 but it will do me. :D

Had it on Pre-order for a couple of weeks. Seriously hoping it'll be sat at home when I get back from work on Friday.

I've been waiting for this game since it was first announced, I can't wait to be playing this for the next 3 years, just like I did with OFP.

Might want to edit the competitor out mate, before the dons see it.

Yeah it should turn up on day of release, always has done for me in the past.

Will I be able to walk into a <insert shop> on friday and buy this? I'm looking forward to some more 'sit in a bush for fifteen hours waiting for the tank to go away' action. I normally pre-order stuff but I really want to have it in my hands on friday :)
