I'm running a 6800GT as well m8, with 2Gb of DDR400 under an Athlon 3000XP. What is the rest of your set ups spec?.

I was planning on grabbing this tomorrow on the UK release date, just curious to hear how it runs for you under that 6800GT?.

Anyone playing this game on widescreen, and if so whats it like

Picking mine up tomo, is the game anything like AA

My copy arrived today. It's the 505 release version (ie: the UK version). Being a massive fan of Operation Flashpoint, I have to say that I'm dissapointed so far. Every now and then I get a fairly common error message (more or less everyone on the Arma forums is experiencing the same). That's fair enough, I was expecting a few bugs.

I was not expecting the sheer number of game breaking type stuff though. In the Campaign, on the first mission, sometimes the cutscene doesn't end (ie, the devs screwed up the end-trigger in the editor).

It is definately about 3 or 4 patches away from being any good atm. The single player campaign is awful compaired to flashpoint. There is ZERO character development.

I'm at the 2nd main mission, Delores it is very very broken.

The worst part is the sound in my opinion. All the '1....................is DOWN!!....I repeat.................................................1!!!!!.............................is down!!' really does my head in ;) It's so distractingly bad! I'm convinced I'll love the game eventually, but it's just not playable for me at the moment. I'm using the German version though so maybe the UK one is a bit better.

i got

A64 3400+
2Gig DDR 400
6800 GT (128mb though)

It runs ok, but i have to set the draw distance down and turn off the nice special effects anddepthof field which really make it look nice. Also AA is a god send on this game as theres lots of jagged 2D tree leaves everywhere :) ..

It plays fine but dosnt look as nice as id like it to. on mid settings at 1024x768 its a steady 30fps rarly dropping below.

256mb Gram will help with texture res. But a 7800 is required to start using the post processing effects. The other downside is i have a Widescreen monitor and the game look swet @ 1680 x 1050 but obviously dosnt help with performance :)

Op flash was also the same with this. Try putting the volume down for the voices a bit. Should help. There was a cool mod for opflash as well that made all those voices come out of the centre speaker on 5.1 with a nice radio effect on so wasnt to distracting.

There is already a sound mod out for ArmA. Gives you much more realistic weapon and vehicle sounds.

Also the 1.05 patch is due very soon, so that should fix some issues.

If you want screenshots head over to the BIS forums, they have 100's of player posted screens up there.

Yeah, it's a great game for taking some "combat photography".

I'm slowly warming to it. There's little bits of that old Flashpoint magic in there, however I can't help but shake the feeling that BIS has simply released a new engine for the mod community to tinker with. Ah well, roll on the mysterious "Game 2" that BIS keeps talking about.

I remember ofp took a good few patches until it was up and running, I think it was the ultimate update 3 that finally made it sort of stable online.

Just getting to grips with the early missions here. One was already a bit broken, I had to shoot poor No. 9 as he was refusing to move and our jeeps wouldn't leave him behind. Trouble was they had no hang-ups about driving off and leaving me when I accidentally jumped out the back of a land rover. :o

Ah, I've just found the training missions, and will be giving them a good going over. I need a serious refresher in OFP skillz 101. ;)

She seems to be running reasonably well so far on my A64 3700 and old skool x800XT.

COOP is as fun as allways.
CTI needs work, its not as good as the mod for OFP.

The usual DM/TDM/CTF are there, mostly by user maps tho.

I havent found lag to be an issue, all smooth my end.

Looks very nice. Running graphics settings at max across the board with no stuttering or slowdown.

I have had a few crashes, but no more so than I did with OFP before the patches.

Only played briefly last night, but as it was 4am and I'd just got back from work I kept dying.

Indeed - but Flashpoint is how old now? 6 years or something? I just thought things might have advanced along a little since then!
