  • Microsoft has a fix for the gaming issues seen following the Windows 10 KB5000842 and KB5001330 updates.
  • The fix comes through Known Issue Rollback, which is a relatively new tool Microsoft uses to fix non-security updates.
  • Using the official fix should eliminate the issues without requiring people to uninstall an entire update.
  • Gamers on Windows 10 and some other users have run into issues following the KB5000842 and KB5001330 updates. People saw stuttering, inconsistent framerates, and other issues after applying the updates. While uninstalling the update could work around the issues before, Microsoft has now rolled out an official fix.

Anyone else keep getting their mouse buttons reversed after updates or restarts of pc? I've 2 pcs I use for gaming, both of them keep having this issue where when I start my pc, the lmb is the rmb and vice versa. Obvious easy to rectify but annoying all the same

I have examined the changelogs for 1809, 1909, 2004 and 20H2. They are very similar, with the only actual difference is the edge updates are not in the 1809 changelog.

The KIR feature was introduced in build 2004, and its interesting to see whilst 1909 has been confirmed by users to have the problem, it didnt get the fix, so my gut feeling is 1809 LTSC is probably affected but probably wont get a fix until next month in a new cumulative patch so am going to not install this month's on my pc.

Also KIR will only get used if the broken patch is "not" security related, meaning my theory about the vGPU thing been the issue is incorrect as that was a security patch.

If I do find out 1809 is not actually affected, I will update in this thread, I appreciate if anyone else already knows this if they would reply, thanks.

Microsoft "could" also decide to be awkward and as a means to get gamers off LTSC might not patch it at all.

I am - how come?

I was wondering as I have always blocked feature updates until all the issues have been ironed out or I am not happy with the build.
I am aware that users on home edition do not have this ability. Whilst those of us on Pro can set up group policies and have more control over how it is updated.
So just interested.

Important for O&O ShutUp10 users:

In SU10 you must undo/enable/red (slide to the left) the "Disable conducting experiments with this machine by Microsoft" option before hitting the [Check for Updates] inside Windows Update to receive the Known Issue Rollback (KIS).
If you do not do this, the registry key described in https://www.windowslatest.com/2021/...-windows-10-april-fix-for-performance-issues/ will not appear.

Regarding Windows Update FIX

2021-04 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5001391)
Apparently fixes the game performance and crash issue in the previous update

Why is Microsoft always so **** when it comes to updates? This latest 'fix' has been sat on 'Downloading - 100%' for the past half an hour now and it's still downloading. How can it be 100% downloaded if it's still ******* going?

That is one of the biggest trolls in modern-day computing and not just windows. When it says installing/downloading 100% and it clearly is not.
