A return to form: Say hello to Banana MK2, the Italian Prancing Horse (Ferrari 458 Italia)

Hi there

Well as our trip to Italy on behalf of Ferrari was cancelled earlier in the year due to Covid, they have instead transported 10x F8 Tributo and 1x F8 Spider over, and in September they are giving me one for the day.

Looking forward to spending a day in one of these, with 710HP its gonna be absolutely mental in a car that weighs 1330kg. :D

Gotta say Ferrari ownership just keeps on rewarding and rewarding, plus hopefully the Italy trip will be still on next year but will hopefully be in an 812 GTS. :D

Not really the Ferrari but I’m doing more work on my other property and today did the garage floor and am very happy with results.

Next step is to put white boards up and some nice posters and pictures to get it really looking the part.

Once the third garage is built all the tools will go into that as it’s gonna be a 3.5m x 6m long and then Ferrari can be re-homed to here. :)

I used the Swisstrax stuff and it's SO good...really high quality and so quick and easy to put down as well. Not cheap, but should last effectively for ever and if I ever move house again I can take it with me.

Look nice Gibbo!

Yep great thing about it and agreed it was so easy to put down.

I was planning on just putting down the old rubber mats in the new garage being built but after using this stuff I will put the same in that garage too as it looks awesome but that’s not being built until October.

The neighbour is also gonna put me white thin MDF up against the walls too so it has that clean clinical look and all the tools and tool chest will be leaving this garage and going into the new one being built as that will be more a workshop and this shall literally be just a nice place for the cars and car cleaning stuff. :)

The Swisstrax flooring looks great

I looked at it for my garage, but as my floor wasnt that level and it didn't slope off to a drain I decided against it as any liquids would collect under them. Ended up with 7mm solid Motolock tiles instead, which are great, but don't look as nice as the Swisstrax.

This is not Swiss Trax I was gonna buy that until a mate in the trade said there are other brands offering similar / identical product now for less money and he had both Swiss and Tuff in his garage and he was happy they were both as good as each other.

https://tuff-tile.com/

£4 a tile and my garage was 195 tiles and it’s a U.K. company also and I was a few ramp pieces short and they posted the additional out FOC.

Yes it’s still quite expensive but the quality is superb and the service is fantastic, I ordered Monday, parts arrived Thursday and I fitted yesterday, it’s an oddly pleasurable experience, kind of like Lego lol.

Yeah I thought as much but no offence, I didn't think you could pull in ferrari money unless your basically a director running the place or the owner. You may well be. I don't know you that well. :D

I have an only fans account. ;)

However I’m here to discuss and enjoy cars. :)

Just wondering if I can't get a ferrari of my own by doing the same.

We make our own lives and success you just gotta go for it, can’t just copy others and expect same, gotta follow your own path and do your best.

I think the Swisstrax stuff was about 50% more. Mine was 225 tiles and I think around £1350 delivered. When I was looking for mine the only alternatives I came across were similar but clearly inferior product (much thinner, and just generally floppier feeling), but I didn't come across Tuff. Looking at their specs they appear near identical to Swisstrax.

I think TUFF is literally a copy, the tiles have no flex and are very strong and I paid £870 for 195 tiles delivered.

Very happy with it and will probably get it again for the other garage too as I really like it.

Hi there

Back in February I had a go at making my first Vlog of taking the 458 for its first service.
I am not a natural on camera so do not expect some amazing documentary or car review.

A subscribe and thumbs up/down would be appreciated please.
It is just a hobby and in the future we will no doubt make more videos when we get time but as that was filmed in February and uploading only just it does not bode well, but it is fun and hope people can watch and enjoy, hopefully don't bore you too much. :)

Nice, perhaps would've edited out your name and address from the service bill though!

Also it just ends...?

Good points, did wonder about ending but was Mrs who edited it.

P.S. Just double checked it is an old address so think all will be OK and the ending was a tecnical issue, battery ran out lol.

I can't believe you all have 42 mins spare to watch a video on possibly the most boring thing on the planet. Yeah it's a ferrari. Woohoo. Surely there is something better on YouTube to watch than that?

There are many more exciting videos on youtube to watch for sure.
But it is no different than say yourself or other members here posting a boring video, I would watch it or at least part of it to show some support and because it is cars and cars are interesting even the boring videos.

It is my first VLOG its not going to be a great watch but a big thank you to those who have shown support and well to yourself enjoy the more exciting videos, there is many of them. :)

Watched this and you sprang to mind...

I posted this in video thread and yep it’s all true Ferrari want their cars cared for and they want them to be driven.

Also Ferrari service personal all really know the cars superbly well and each dealership will also generally be doing engine rebuilds or capable of doing so across the range as well.

my service is free, next year is last free service but even after that it’s £900-1200 which I feel if a very fair price almost cheap consider the car and the fact a service is generally a minimum of half a days work and sometimes a full day.

Watched a bit of the YT video. Liked it. Authentic keep going Andrew. I wish I'd started a YT years ago with the various motors I have but missed that boat and now I CBA :D

No way doing it as a business for same reasons missed the boat and I am not talented enough to do that and it is bloody hard work to become successful from it and earn a living.

When are we going to do a NSX vs Ferrari drag race?

Or even better Supra VS Ferrari.

Yellow cars all around.

need get Santa pod at sometime as they still owe me a 10s pass, are the Supras running strong times with basic mods?

Imagine NSX is likely a 10s car stock? Did an 11.2s @ 130mph in 458 at Pod without launch control, no grip as was 2c but supposedly with LC they run 10.8s and seems believable that the LC is worth that to be honest.

Given the current stock available I'm expecting to see him in the queue at the soup kitchen :p

No plans on changing the Ferrari. Love the car to pieces! I still might add a 991 GT3 to the collection though. :)

Gave the 458 a well overdue wash at weekend:

Thinking about selling the M5 early next year and getting an Alfa Quadriflogio considering they are now approaching near 30k but will look into other potential 4 door performance saloons / estates as well as there is a lot of nice stuff at the 30-40k mark.

That honeymoon seems short lived, any particular reason why your already thinking of the change?

Although once an itch is scratched, we tend to move on to the next one.

It was an itch to scratch, still not 100% on the decision to sell as the engine is phenomenal it truly is, the way it pulls in the last 1500rpm is astonishing, for such a big heavy car the top end acceleration is astonishing. I can see why a couple of people have put the engine in the E3x and E46 cars as in a car weighing around 1500kg or less I can only imagine how amazing a drive it would be as the torque and power is so linear making it easier than you think to put power down.

Might keep it but I have also always been looking at the Alfa's and I seriously need to limit myself at 5 cars, getting a 6th would be silly but I need to test drive the Alfa to see if its what I truly want but if memory serves me well the ride was amazing, handling awesome and engine punchy and sounded OK, of course nothing will really rival the induction and exhaust of an NA V10.

As Long as its not S2K You selling then its fine :D

The S2000 is my keep forever car really, as it is an absolutely perfect example, zero rust, low miles and I am second owner, plan is to enjoy it Summer months and keep it garaged as building a third garage just for it. :D
