Not sure what I'm most impressed with, the depth and weight of your squatting or the fact the people in the background seem to be completely oblivious as if it's something they see every day... which is probably is

lol, they've all been around long enough to have seen it all before. The new guys are still impressed for a week or 2, lol.

Do people squat without chalking the glutes first?!

Heh - in all seriousness, it's just awesome watching somebody squatting that sort of weight for reps.

Seeing the bar wobble and bend as it does in your vid is just epic. :D

So it’s been sometime since I stopped by to update this.

My strongman season ended in September with a victory at Britain’s natural strongest man, which also resulted in me picking up a stress fracture at the top of my spine.

So, I’ve taken some time out from the gym, after what was a very busy season of competing. Over the last ~8 weeks I have done a little in the way of condition work and lots in the way of resting to allow by back time to repair.

I am currently sitting at 120KG bodyweight, my plan was to give up the 105′s and put some extra weight on to compete more seriously as a open next year. However I’m now have doubts! My aim is to be back competing around April next year, but I will see how things go over the next 2 months before making a final decision regarding my choice of weight class.

Last night was my first weights session in almost 2 months:

Deadlift (belt and straps)

70KG – 10
120KG -5
170KG – 5
210KG – 2
250KG – 2
290KG – 1
310KG – 2,2

F.squat (I still can’t rest an empty bar on my back without pain)

100KG – 5
155KG – 3
175KG – 3
190KG – 3

Power cleans

70KG – 5
110KG – 3
140KG – 3
150KG – 3
160KG – 3

Strict press

70KG – 5
90KG – 2
100KG – 2,2,2

All things considered, it could have been worse. 2014 season starts here!

Stress fracture, 2 months off.

1st session back: DLs 310kg for reps, Squats 190kg for reps :( I'm gonna give up.

FFUUUUUAARRR!!!

I don't normally say things like this, Ben, but that is/was ******* immense.

Absolutely awesome achievement! Well done!

And to see you smiling through some of those events was thoroughly entertaining. :D

LOL at Polish guy doing the Sled pull :D

Could have done more on the squats though?

I could have done 30+ reps on that squat set up. I was convinced that I'd done enough for the win, I was repping much faster than the Polish guy. No idea how we were both given 16.

Cheers dude, I was happy with the yoke, sled, conans and squats. Really annoyed with all my mistakes on the dumbbell and my legs were constantly cramping on the frame so couldn't do much!
