A third of U25s haven't drunk alcohol in the past year

In before a bunch of bitter old men have a moan because kids aren’t ruining their livers like ye good old days
You sound pretty bitter yourself with a chip on his shoulder about the older generation.

Plenty of people who I went out with in the 90s went on to have successful lives so I'm not sure where ruining lives comes into it.

I'm not surprised they aren't drinking, they can't afford it.
There's no cash left after saving for a deposit on a house / car insurance / both

A lot of the younger ones at work don't drink or don't drink anything like my generation did at their age - but drug use seems to be far more prevalent and while smoking is also relatively low, vape use seems to be climbing steeply.

It is funny when some of them are scornful about alcohol and hand waving at the health impact, but then you find they are doing other substances :s

Young people not drinking alcohol? Good on its own.

The reason they're not drinking alcohol? Perhaps not so much.

Is this on balance good or bad. Who knows. Seer you in 20 years when we find out.

That's quite similar to France, the focus is going out to a restaurant and maybe a bar but it's not a trophy hammered and legless affair. Also attitude between sexes also differs in the same regard.
The problem with young adults in the UK, they go out drinking on an empty stomach - big mistake. I have seen groups of 8-12 young adults in restaurants in Europe spending a couple of hours socialising over nice food and drink in moderation.

I'm 32, never been drunk.
Last time I remember even tasting alcohol was at my grandma's funeral 10 years ago where it was out of respect as my Grandad wanted everyone to drink to her memory, disgusting stuff.

I'd rather have an ice cold can of pepsi max/iron bru

Adnams was in the r4 news yesterday, close to administration, also, well known too that french are paying wine producers to convert to industrial alcohol,
because of reduced youngster drinking and changing to beer (would it be so bad if we had some good value reds imported into UK)

I thought there was similar data to drinking about sex in the u25's ... but, if you poll on computer gaming (good for OC)

Not a big mistake if you want to save money by getting drunk faster.
I have only been so drunk that I puked once. It was a work’s meal (about 17 years ago) that I forgotten about it - thought it was the following week. I had nothing to eat since 10:30am. On the table for ten, there was red wine and I was the only one who drank it. Waiters kept topping it up. No idea how much wine I drank. Got home and there was a step between path and front door and puked all over it.

Hate being drunk. Like being tipsy
