sorry but the challenger is no way to display this monitors capabilities. we have discussed it in the office already that the GT-R would have beaten it hands down.

please amend the product image immediately.

I'm sorry to say that if I wanted a 1440p monitor, I'd get a Korean one. The prices are untouchable.

and then when it goes wrong have full UK based support and RMA services with favourable warranty terms and replacement services at your disposal?

oh ok.

These 1440p monitors are, in my opinion, too pricey I'm afraid. The price jump from 1080p to 1440p is far too much and for all the difference not worth the premium. Its high time 1440p monitors were more affordable and by that I mean £250 or less. £420 special pre-order price, not for me ever! :(

Iiyama, dell, Asus are in a build quality of their own league.

Korean, DGM Hazro are in another league. Better than Hazro, maybe some but the all metal housed ones, not a chance.

Your welcome to your opinion but I'd pay extra for Asus, iiyama or DELL anyday and also have the backup that should it break in 2yrs I can make a phone call and have a new monitor on my doorstep within a couple of days.

+1 to this, I've been tempted by the cheaper ones many times, in the end I've thought its best to save up and get something much better. Warranty and customer support is going to be miles better too.

Currently looking at a 1440p Monitor, this one looks good.

Also the fact you can get stung for £50+ import duty on the korean, I've read quite a few posts of people in the UK being charged, but well that's the law, anyone getting away with it is breaking the law.

£45 for a Squaretrade warranty, so that's an extra £100 roughly, and then it's not allowable unless deemed pixel perfect, and not found any reports of people doing a claim through it yet, so does it work...

I want a 27" 1440P monitor, I like this one and the price is alright for me, but wondering if any manufacturer will release 96 - 120Hz PLS panel versions eventually...?

As far as i know Square trade warranty only applies if an Item has been bought from a UK retailer.

£420 is a stupidly good price. It wasn't long ago that a good quality 24inch IPS monitor was that price and 27inch ones were closer £600+.

The build quality and features is not comparable, plus the most important factor, a 3yr on-site warranty.

I went korean and must agree.
build quality nowhere near other monitors I've had, screen is amazing tho, but when it goes wrong there nothing I can do other than buy a new one :(

Warranty does make it a far more attractive screen.

Oh come on! Good quality 27" 1080p monitors can be had for £165 and as for 24" try £135. The gap in price between 27" 1080p and 27" 1440p is far larger than it should be. I see nothing 'stupidly good' about paying £420 for this monitor, they have been out long enough to have dropped at least below £300 and with 4000k on the horizon I feel 1440p is passing us by. Only my opinion. :)

4k is very hard for monitor manufacturers at present due to 60Hz being a must, Asus have managed it but in a way which is neither low cost or mass production.

1440p won't be passing us by for a long time and the big brands won't be dropping sub £300 this year or next year.

If you want 1440p cheap, you go lower quality and lack of warranty with a Korean monitor, OcUK is always looking for a good 1440p monitor going cheap with warranty, right now nothing but we are always looking......

1080P is vastly different to 1440P, especially given the latter is closer to 1600P and those go for £900+! I certainly wouldn't spend the amount you mentioned on a monitor if I wanted something high-end. To me it's a decent price but that's because I see the Dells as the benchmark and the U2713HM currently costs slightly more (although that does have USB ports). Granted the ASUS monitors are also tremendous value.

Anyway, my point is 27inch 1440P monitors from reputable manufacturers at a £400-500 pricepoint represent great value. Prices of these monitors have already dropped significantly over the past two years and I'm just being realistic in not expecting them to cost £300 or less.

Personally i think £4-500.00 isnt bad for a 27" 2560x1440 monitor. Im running a benq fp241w 1920x1200 which cost about £450.00 a few years ago. Prices on reputable brand 27" screens have dropped very nicely in recent years. It's a res ive considered moving to but the gpu power required can be quite daunting.
