Ive managed to get everything set up today but i have a problem that i cant figure out.

I ran the Carsair 3500LL pro in the A8n32 fine with no problems,

Ive installed them into the A8r32 and the memory is making a high pitched sound when the lights on the heatspreader are showing memory usage.

Memory runs fine so i cant think what it can be.

Hi,

I have the same ram as you with this board, I reported this issue a few pages back, it's 'normal' I suppose. Very strange though.....

It is very strange,

Thanks for letting us know though.

It is pretty annoying though, ive got my system running really quiet, and the noise is a bit off putting.

Its not a loud noise but its enough to distract you when in Windows.

:(

Don't forget guys that RD580 is still just the northbridge, so you'll likely have the same choice of SB450 ATI southbridge or ULI 1573 and 1575. If you're waiting for the better ATI southbridge then SB600 should be along a couple of months later... :)

Simon.

the problem is that the sb600 will only be on the am2 not the 939 from what iv been reading also dont forget the abit at8 x32 is also coming think im goner stick with abit for my first crossfire setup

Im also getting the 'Lag' in BF2

Freezes for a second or to every few seconds.

Sometimes it take s 10 mins to appear and sometimes its pretty instant.

X1900XTX is watercooled and running fine temp wise and CPU is fine aswell.

Not tried any other game yet, but so far it doesnt look good.

Open to suggestions guys before i box it up and send it back :( :(

Hi,

do you think the lag is to do with the board?

Thanks
Raja

I downloaded a half life 2 demo, just can't get it to work right. I do get lag in online games, but that's cause I use a wireless connection to my router.

Yeah , its something wrong with the board as i have the exact same components in the A8N32 and it worked flawless.

Im guessing it could be a setting in the bios, but i will have to look into it further and see what i can do,

im the same - major lags in bf2...even with board settings at default

thought I was getting somewhere with this board, but instead I have been installing windows for the past 2 days as I keep getting boot errors that I can only fix if I re-install windows!

I had the same components with my A8N-Sli Deluxe and it was perfect - that was with the x1900xtx which i am running...

Ok, In BIOS, Jumperfree Config, Changed PEG Link Mode to Normal/Auto, rather than Disabled. Seems to be taking away my Lag. Not tested for long, just thought I would let you know as I am too tired to play any games at the moment. See how you get on. I turned this option on when my system was at default speeds.

i had the same and boxed it up and sent it back but i had similar issues with this a8r - mvp ,on and then off ,as i did a restore to 24hrs previous and it hasnt missed a beat since so i dont know if my trouble was down to hardware or drivers ect , one thing i havn't reloaded since is 3dmark06 but that is probably just one thing it could be i suppose, only i remember it asking the question about do you want to load directx open gl drivers for it to work so who knows , anyhow have a good week as im off to sweden tomorrow for some education so enjoy those boards and the jury may still be out

Hi,

when you say 'lag', is that the game freezes for about 10 seconds and then resumes, only to do it again in 5 seconds?

Thanks
Raja

that was how mine was , i reported it to asus and they got as far as to say as a test disable fastwrite/read function in ccc or ati sys tool , so you could try that , only this was on day 6 and i was alresdy taking the screws out ...
i didnt actually see where the function was in ccc tbh

HI,

where can I check/change irq sharing? I have disabled all the devices I don't use in the bios - ser. port, onboard lan etc, even the silicon image controller......

Andy, I think fastwrites apply to agp cards, and not pci-e, so I can't see their advice helping me.

I only get the lag in online games, I can play single player fine apart from HL2 demo, but that has many issues, and can't be blamed on the new motherboard so soon.

Thanks
Raja
