A8R32-MVP what is it

I am able to boot at 265mhz CPU Freq, 1ghz HTT Freq and my Ram at 200.

Can I ask, when you turn your computer off - does your usb devices stay on? Such as keyboard Lights, mouse etc...As mine does - Even my Fan Contoller (Aerocool Aerogate stays on - just not the backlight). Found this stange as my old board did not do this with the same PSU. However this may mean nothing...

I never mucked around with voltages or that really - just kept them at normal. CPU at 1.375V and Ram at 2.6V.

Hi,

try going up in 5's from 220 mhz, I can get to 246 stable, with 2.5-3-3-7 @ 1t, but I have to go up slowly in 5's.

Once you get past 228 the board will not post after exiting bios,

so hold in the power switch, as soon as you hear the computer switch off very quickly press in the power switch again to re start it (be quick), I find it then loads my overclock without the failure screen (weird I know, get to an overclock you are happy with and leave it, if you push it too far you'll have to jumper reset the cmos to get any post at all....)

This is the first board I've used ever which has been so difficult to OC with!! Surely this is a major flaw?

Spending £147 odd on a new board which can't even match an aging NF3 £70 board is a little frustrating :\

Normal as far as I know. My current board does (NF7-S), and I am pretty sure my previous one did too. At least for USB devices (I don't have fan controllers etc.).

Right,

Just thought i would see what all the fuss was about with this overclocking problem.

Posting this now at 250 HTT (first go)

Going back in bios now.

;)

Edit / Now at 260 - back soon

Edit / 270 Screeny later , just goin in again

I find my mobo actually prefers overclocking at higher ht link speeds, I have it at 1ghz now, and it actually boots out of bios at 247HTT 2.5-3-3-7 @ 1T.....

Vcore is 1.325 + 200mv which is actually between 1.48-1.52v

I tried to set the memory at 216 and it booted but would not load windows.

SO I am back at 200 (400mhz effective), boy this motherboard is like the cabbage patch kids, each one is unique to it's owner...........

On default voltages i couldnt get much further.

kept getting Overclock failed on boot.

All i did was set in bios:

HT link speed 800

RD 580 HT PLL Control = High Speed.

Dropped mem to 166 limit

I would try harder for you guys, but for now, i will leave it at that

The CPU will go to 2.8 / 2.9 on air, i was just seeing how far i could push the HTT at stock

Hi,

I don't think I did too badly with mine,

amd 4800 X 2 @ 2730 mhz stable for gaming
200mhz memory @ 2.5-3-3-7 @ 1T
11X multiplier @ 247
HT Link @ 800mhz

vcore as stated earlier

I am returning this mobo any way as I can't get rid of the ram noise, just about to order another from OCUK, let's see if I can get a good one, without the noise. I bought my current one from another retailer, Coolasmoo how's your rma going. I've never rma'd before, any tips???

Thanks
Raja
