A8R32-MVP what is it

Chris I doubt you'll get jitter free games with any quality of ram using 0211, but strange things can happen with this board............ :)

"yes ver 1.1 screen space" got it, looks nice but I don't really do screen savers, does get that fan moving though....

"but strange things can happen with this board" are you kidding, twilight zone has nothing on this board :-)
ChrisC

raja; the new board you got from ocuk.. is it still rev 1.03g?

I have sent an rma request re: memory squeeling issue

And a good demo it is too......

Check out post #218 from veridian3 http://www.driverheaven.net/showthread.php?t=100818&page=15&pp=15 , looking promising....

Edit: Package sent....

Chris

I think but not sure, but i think he is refering to post 216, it may be the second para. in which he refers to the A8R-MVP and mentions a email he sent

but again i may be worng :D I do hope that ASUS do tidy up the rushed out 311

Maybe, trouble is there's more than one thread running in there now and it's getting a little confusing. I think they should be seperated....

BTW what temps do you get on your CPU when you've been gaming? I'm getting 49C using a 3% overclock and the standard AMD HSF...

50 plus at stock and 95 plus on the gfx waiting for a water cooling kit to arrive , my temps are way to high boardering on shut down .

as i have said the case is sucking in hot air due to the desk back being solid, hence one it gets hot it just spirals upwards .

Wow, that is high, in my last system, same Lian Li case, CPU & HFS, I was getting about 44C under load. However I had a X800-Pro flashed to a XT then which ran much cooler than this X1900. Looking at the motherboard temperature I can see that the ambient temp inside the case is much higher now.I might fit an after market cooler at some point onto the X1900 if I feel the temps get a little high in the summer, although I'm in a warm room with the heating on anyway...
Which water cooling kit are you getting?

i will be setting the reserator 1 up on the Mastercard shortly.

Already got it on the X1900XTX but will have to do a drain down for both :(

Anyway, will inform you of temps, if it helps

Thanks again Lordedmond for the work ;)

Hi, yes temps will be useful, however I feel a better use for the big tower thingy would be to cool a bottle of wine ;-)

Hi,

good news for me today is that my debit card is being refunded the money from the other retailer, they did not query my return at all. I put an extra note in stating the problkem with the ram noise, and they just accpeted it, cool.

Hopefully we should be hearing more about another bios update soon, I'll keep you posted if I hear anything.

That s good Raja, glad they sorted you out hey they only have to read these forums to know there is a problem with some MB

Makes me wonder what is different with the new MB when its the same rev.

I have a feeling something is slipping thru quality control at Asus, they may have a batch of slightly faulty components. If the exterior of the devices is not deformed in any way, it becomes impossible for quality control to know what's wrong. The problem probably is not showing up in the test phase of the boards.

I used to work in electronic pcb assembly at Texas Instruments. My mother is a Quality Control supervisor at an electronic pcb loading firm, so I can understand the problems they are facing.

But that still does not explain the fundamental problems they have with the bios, they must have guys that know how to setup a bios instruction set, otherwise they would never have enjoyed any success with the nvidia chipset boards.

We still are not seeing boards by any other company using the new ATI chipset, so we have nothing to benchmark the issues against.

But I am confident they will try to put it right for all.

I wonder Why

at first it was blamed on the acquisition of ULI by Nvidia, however the companies in question are alleged to have enough stock of devices to proceed with production, so that's interesting................
