A8R32-MVP what is it

thanks fellas, im gonna try the onboard sound for a bit an see how that goes... had no strange effects during tonights gaming session :)

i did have a problem with my x1900, the molex to pci-e power converter connector was burned due to a bad connection, twas causing pc to lockup and garbled displays. my brother donated his cable to me and ive not had any probs since. thinking there is a chance it could have caused some damage to the gfx card!

raja, my 3.3v rail is showing 3.36

must be the psu then, I have a seasonic 12-600w. Shows around 4.08v. Coolasmoo has the same psu, I wonder what his reading shows...........

Hi Guys,

How well are these boards clocking?!

I want to make sure that if I swap to this mobo i'll be getting roughlt the same clocks as I do with my current A8N-SLi Prem mobo..

Many thanks,

Agent.

Nvidia cutting off ATI at the Knees?

Looks like Nvidia is putting the screws to ATI with regard to the ULI chipset. (I am not here to discuss the merits of this move, only reporting it)

So, you might be in for a rude awakening when it comes to "waiting" for DFI/Sapphire/etc..RD580/ULI combo boards. Might end up stuck with RD480 southbridges until RD600 see's the light of day. (june/july?)

Apparently there should be a new Ati southbridge out soon, as for rd580 boards, there are rumours that the manufacturers have enough of the uli chipsets in stock to proceed with production for now, it is indeed a shrewd and cunning move by Nvidia, and it will affect short term sales, but I think by the end of the year the balance should be restored...............

I've already have purchased straight from ati.com a ATI X1900 Cross Fire Edition card and ATI X1900 XTX. I want to build the system around these2 cards in CF mode; up until I started some threads from a gentleman in Driver Heaven thread here was my Setup:

ASUS A8R32-MVP Deluxe Socket 939 ATI Crossfire Radeon XPRESS 3200 ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

AMD Athlon 64 FX60 Toledo 1GHz HT Socket 939 Dual Core Processor Model ADAFX60CDBOX - Retail

Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound - OEM

CORSAIR XMS 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model Twinx2048-3200c2pt - Retail

FSP Group (Fortron Source) FX700-GLN ATX12V/ EPS12V 700W All-In-One Power Supply - Retail

Then I'm gonna take out my old Soundblaster Audigy 2ZS from my old system, a 80Gig Western Digital IDE Hard drive.

I will not be over clocking at all, all stock speeds...

Will it work? The Asus bios will be the 0311.

Or should I go with the new Sapphire PC-A9RD580= Nice Motherboard

that I just got off the phone with Sapphire ( Some CMP hardware store probably cause they didn't answer the phone saying Sapphire ) Well the guy says that the 580 board was supposed to come out the end of March but they pushed it back so they can make sure it doesn't have the bugs that the "ASUS" boards had. So the answer to the thread question is Mid-April. Sucks I'd have to wait till then.

So I have the money to build this thing but I don't want to buy something that will not work

The Asus is not bad for most systems with the 0311, the next update will make it a lot more solid, I'm sure it won't be too long now 'til we see a new bios posted on their site, they are working hard i hear...........

Hi, lets hope we can share in your optimism raja, I hope they do. I've still got outstanding issues, although whether they are down to the mobbo is yet to be seen. Still awaiting a verdict on my memory sticks and I still can't get the ATI adaptive overclock to complete a run without crashing the drivers, and this is on yet another completely fresh installation of XP....

And now, to cap it all, I'm getting this "The device, \Device\Scsi\m52881, did not respond within the timeout period". On a completely fresh build I've just done this morning....

Please post your current problems to Asus, so that the issues can be addressed in the next fix if possible. I can't say any more than that at the moment............

I received my copy of Oblivion yesterday so I ditched the A8R32 and put my old A8R back in. I wasnt willing to put up with crappy sound issues, bios issues, lan issues, etc, etc, etc.... At the moment I am still running a single card config so CF performance is not an issue for me.

With my old board back in my Sound card works, Windows seems smoother, boot problems are lessened (still have some) and I am back to my original OC.

I have played Oblivion for about 6 hours without a glitch. Cant wait to RMA my A8R32 when a newer version comes out or when DFI and the others release their offerings of the ATi chipset.

I will never buy another product from Asus
