YIKES!

I would'nt be surprised if the mobo was faulty, its been a pain ever since i bought it.

I'll try running it with one GPU.

well actually this is my second board the first one i recieved from ocuk was doa i think there was a massive fauty batch at first and ocuk wont even refund most of the money it cost to send it back shocking

hey man. the no asus motherboard install might be do to the NT error posted a few days back. I repiled the fix if you are using x-fi. search my oost since Im away from my computer

To all that are upgrading to 0404, you should uninstall all the ati drivers, then reinstall after you have 0404 running, otherwise some games won't run. The bios upgrade affects the display drivers, so you must refresh them.

I think the lower 3d marks are with Catalyst 6.4, I've gone back to Cat 6.3, but have not run any tests to confirm speeds.

Interesting.... I haven't tried playing any games yet since the 404 update on this machine. I was planning to upgrade mine to 6.4 tomorrow, but from the info here I might just hold off (and reinstall 6.3 if I need to). Have you seen any other noticeable reduced performance, or just lower 3DMark scores (which I could really care less about)?

The new BIOS really seems to have solved the "laggy" mouse and general responsiveness issues I was having before. Hopefully the BSOD won't come back either (it was only that once so far and the system is fine on Prime95).

Hi, all my games work fine after flashing the bios to 0404, didn't re-install the radeon drivers so mine seems uneffected...

There probably nothing wrong with your indows installation, or your motherboard, I think this is a 'known' problem with certain CT sound cards drivers and the Asus update program.

I think it's the in game performance that's been affected on certain games, BF2 is definatley slower, certain profiles have been setup by ATI, in tha case of BF2 some of the Catalyst functions have been disabled. Also I think the bios flash affects Crossfire setups, so the drivers must be refreshed.

CPU Quiet fan control is borked with 0404! I set it to enabled, cpu fan full speed @ 40, pwm @ 55, start at 5. When I put into Windows Asus probe reports 2800rpm. It used to work with 0311. CPU temp is way under 40 (29 atm) When I save, reboot and go back to CPU fan settings they're not the same as I left them!

AsusUpdate wont let me downgrade bios, even when the option is checked to allow.

Message says'

Warning! The BIOS image cant use in this motherboard. (the EEPROM Type incompatible.)

Any ideas? I'm gonna try uninstalling all ATI software and drivers, and see if that works, if not, prolly do a clean install of OS later tonight.

Ok lads, finally some success!

Uninstaled using control panel and then Driver Cleaner, and re-installed 6.3s.

Am finally able to run 3D now!

Quick spin on BF2 and 3DMark and all seems fine. :)

I got a 3Dmark 05 score of 12434? Is that typical of my system would you say? Specs are

FX55 (STOCK)
2GB CORSAIR (CAS3)
2 x X1900XT CROSSFIRE MODE
X-FI

Glad to see you got it going. Check up above though for a solution to your ASUS Update problem. ChrisCatt reports that ASUS Updates fails when you have a Soundblaster X-Fi installed. If you pull it, then run the Updater, you should be cool.

Of course, now that you've fixed your 3D problem, there's really no reason to roll back anymore...
