Looks a bit better to me atm, 2.65ghz 2.5-3-3-6 @ 220htt, 12X multiplier, voltage @ 1.4v (reported as 1.44-1.45). Just ran S&M memory test for 28 mins, with no errors, I used to get errors when I clocked near 2.7ghz before. So this looks promising.

Anyone tested any games yet??

Also has anyone noticed the vcore voltage seems to fluctuate less than with 0311?
Glad things are looking better for you guys now and all in all there probably aint going to be that much in it between Abit , Asus and DFI apart from a few 3DMARKS points and a lot of money :)

and has anyone heard from LordEdmond lately, hes been a bit quiet , i hope he hasnt done himself any harm with that steam boiler of his

Flashed the new bios.. set it up from fresh to 3.0GHz (was 2.8 before).. perfect so far :D

Got a list of fixes in this BIOS? I followed OC instructions in that PDF - got a extra 95 points in 3dmark. I got another 95 with 6.4 Catalyst, so two hundred in two days ain't bad.

which of current abit mobos use the guru clock

Most of the current ones do,

http://www.abit.com.tw/page/uk/mult...hp?fMTYPE=uGuru+Family&pMODEL_NAME=Guru+Clock

I think the uguru 2 clock is better as it has more functionality like clear cmos switch and other things,

Not sure where you get them from hence why im using the mach 1 version which displays all the temps, voltages and fan speeds. You can also switch on the Pc with it :p

Hey its useful and saves having monitoring software running with windows. and your temps ect ,are always on show no matter what you are doing.

Final specs of my system Check sig. What's everyones opinon on that? Should I have any hickups? This is the outcome of best suggestions I've gotten from you guys and Driver heaven/3dguru guys, thanks for all your help. I'll stay around, this is only the beginning of my OC experience... Once again thank you!!!!

raja, that memory will do 2.5-3-2-6 1T easily at 220 -240 ht 2.7v

Give it ago , it works for me and we have the same modules

:)

thanks buddy, I'll give it a try, should be worth a little more bandwidth.

Looks like things have improved a little for everyone with the new bios.

My thanks to all that have stuck thru this patiently.

Also thanks to Gary Key of Anandtech for providing support with the issues behind the scenes, the guys been very helpful and influential in obtaining the new bios, I was told over 2 weeks ago this was coming and would be aimed at the more hardcore overclockers, unfortunatley I could not reveal the info to everyone at the time, as Gary was under NDA, requesting my silence on the issue too.

Duke I'm glad you've managed to hit the magic 3ghz barrier!

Me too buddy. I was so frustrated with this board.. going from a solid NF3 mobo @ 3.0GHz to ATI struggling over 2.8 :o But it seems all good so far.. still lots of tweaking to do though (that guide looks interesting).

Well done to all the people behind the scenes at ati/asus/xs etc :D

looks ok, initial report of the DFI look favourable, fwiw someone's hit 400htt with the Asus now, see the link above. What ram are you using?

I would not worry, you have to take a plunge eventually.

Blimey, if all these overclocks are true then I'm glad I didn't go and change mine for another and throw, what could have been, another £170 away for maybe just a few additional fps's.

Great, Oblivion has just arrived in the post, you know what I'll be doing all day :D

BTW, raja & coolasmoo, you mentioned something about core voltage on another thread, is this the vcore? If so what are you using to measure it with, I've been using Asus Probe and with the new bios it goes between 1.44 & 1.46, which I would consider stable enough....

Hi Chris,

I've used both asus probe and cpu-z, the vcore is a lot more stable now than before. Those clocks do look genuine, the 400 htt is on the next page from the link to the 350htt overclock posted earlier, both are on xtreme sytems forums, I doubt those figures are false. I don't know if the Asus is still on special offer at OCUK, but at £99, as it was last week, it's a steal. I can't see any of the other boards bettering those overclocks to the extent where they become worth the extra expenditure.

Raja

edit I don't use catalyst 6.4, I found they slowed down BF2, so I've gone back to 6.3

What core voltage do you want? I'll have to restart to check if it has it.

on the previous bios i think it was max 1.55v then you could add another 200mV giving about 1.65v , is it still the same or have they increased it

Hi raja and thx for your reply...
I'm now considering going croosfire with another X1900 card, has this bios improved the situation? I've been reading about certain issues, or, is it worth waiting for the 6.5's, again the are rumours are it will allow two X1900's without having to have a crossfire edition...

raja, have you and are you able to publish a changelog of fixes for this new bios?
Thanks
ChrisC
