Hi, I think that flashing remotely is taking one hell of a risk, better to do it again correctly when you get in so as too make sure it's been done correctly...

TooNice said:The other thing is, Asus Update won't work anymore. When I first setup my PC, it was fine, now it gives me some obscure error about some DLL missing. So I uninstalled the app, then tried reinstalling it. It gives me one error box with a gibberish error message, followed by another one saying that it could not find an Asus motherboard
Installation via floppy disk is not an option: there is no functional floppy drive on this PC.
TooNice said:Yea, I sorted the Asus update problem. I am on 0404 now. It was a creative driver issue, there is a workaround involving renaming the Wow6432Node entry in the registry. I am not sure what it does really, but I changed it back after updating, so that part is sorted.
About the HD issue, I have installed the drivers, although I am not sure if it was installed properly. In the control panel, there is a Silicon Image ATA Controller entry. When I double click on it it shows the details of my drive. Int he Hist Link Speed and Device Link Speed section, they are both marked as Generation 1 (1.5GB/s). The Current Transfer Mode is marked as UDMA 6. When I look at the device manager entry, it shows the Driver Version to be 1.0.0.9.
There is also a "Flash Bios" option, but everything is grayed out there.
Okay, here is an update. I switched plugged my Raptor to the ULi controller, and everything is running at full speed.TooNice said:About the HD issue, I have installed the drivers, although I am not sure if it was installed properly. So that mean there is definitely something wrong with the Sil Controller, but I am not sure if it is just me, or every A8R32. Regardless, I am not happy leaving things as it is. Could someone test this for me?
Cheers.
TooNice said:Hi, thanks for the reply. You are actually connecting your Raptor to the ULi controller. That one works fine for me. The one I am having trouble is with the Sil controller near the back of the case (below the CPU socket).
