Should go up too something like 365 posts per year avarage and revoked if you dont post for a few months, but thats far to hard to implamnet.
Defo shouldn't be relaxed.

I agree. One of the best mm that i use. Feel much safer buying and selling on here than elsewhere esp ebay.

I use the MM quite a bit and would be banned under your regime, I've never ripped anyone off or been ripped off myself. Works well as it is.

And not to mention that you get to "know" people a bit on the forums so you feel more confident about selling/buying from them and that if there was ever a problem, they would still be regularly around on the forums because they are a regular poster.

It's really not that difficult to join in with the forum and spend a few months building up your posts. Like others have said find a topic in GD you have an opinion on and bang there goes 50

I like that not only does it discourage poor users of the MM, it encourages active involvement in the forum community.

It has me hooked.

Contribute to posts more. Try help people and you will be surprised how fast post count goes up.

Counter productive, Some of the threads in there are troll bait of extreme effectiveness.

Getting involved will only lead to a ban which will mean NO POSTS ! for a time

I entered the MM under the old criteria many years ago and i'm now well over the threshold. I've always found it a great place to buy and sell and the people that use it to be great. My contributions re posts are sometimes worth while and sometimes they aren't. My early days were lingering the general hardware section. Where i earnt enough post. Its not hard to do without spamming and i wouldnt like to see the MM let any tom dick and harry in
