About the MM

Whilst I cheated and got a job at ocuk which granted me instant access ^^ (not like i can escape you know where I work haha)

I have probably posted 1000 times now in the none support section of the forums.

anyway the rules are there because you have something to lose an old account lots of posts and the respect or well unearned disdain that you probably would like to keep. It also gives the user fair chance to check you out. If you've been a ******* in the forums people might not want to do business with you.

We're not rating on quality, so someone posting 500 is literally half the contributor someone posting 1000 is.

Of course it is arbitrary. 250 was too. It's a judgement call we have made and users of the MM seem to agree with it.

Thanks, I have absolutely no issues with decisions made by the owners of the forums, after all, I'm simply a guest! To 1000 and beyond!

Well it seems to be a trend where the seller will not leave feedback until after the buyer has. The buyer has done everything on their part once the money is paid, so feedback should be left by the seller at that point. Currently, it is not, and the seller holds the buyers trust rating at ransom until they are satisfied their own is good.

That shouldn't be happening.

This used to happen on eBay all the time, which is why they introduced the system of having sellers unable to leave negative feedback. Even if its a negative response within a +ve comment box, it'll get removed by eBay eventually.

Obviously eBay have automated software to do this, not sure this would feasible on MM which I'm guessing does not.

Wow the people who have access to MM agree with the call, who'd have thought.

Got to say I'm extremely impressed OCUK have a MM at all. Most retailers would be short sighted enough not to bother, and be wrong.

I admire good business practice, and this is a fine example.

/In before someone says kissing arse doesn't get you access any quicker :D

The alternative is lowering the post count significantly, ****ing off all the regular MM users, some of whom have traded for years and years, just so a bunch of low contributors with <300 posts can get in, take advantage of the service the forum offers, then leave and never come back to the forum unless they want to buy/sell something.

Need 14k more posts for the "other" forum.

What's the other forum? A secret fight club or secret Pron swapping club?!

I'm thankful for the high post count for MM. Ebay is a thieves paradise. Their slogan "we guarantee you get you item or we refund your money" basically means anyone who purchases something unrecorded delivery can lie about not receiving it with little comeback, I've recently come to find. :(

I'm with the OP on this one. Ive been here a while and visit daily. I like to contribute to threads more so when i have something decent to say that hasnt already been said which is why my post count is still quite low. As of late i have been adding more posts with less integrity otherwise it would be another ten years for me before i get access even so im still guessing its gonna take another year or two before i get there. How some of you have gotten thousands of posts in months is beyond me.

Get involved in an AMD vs Intel, or Nvidia vs AMD debate and your postcount jumps.

I do believe the postcount is too high as well. Especially if you just want to discuss hardware stuff instead of posting political crap in GD threads.. as that seems to be the most active part of the forums.

I think there should be a maximum number of members in the MM, then as some lose access a lucky dip night would pick a new member (though they would still need to have over 1000 posts and have been signed up for at least 180 days.)....

I got loads of posts just in the Windows forum helping people there. If you want to help people posts will come in their thousands.
