Just spoken to a friend who is partially sighted. His guide dog was shot this morning :mad:. It seems to be a flesh wound only and she is still able to walk but they need to wait for the swelling to reduce before they can x-ray and ascertain the type of pellet used. Only then will they know what action to take.

I just can't understand who could do that kind of thing. To see a rugged chap in his fifties reduced to sobbing through the actions of some evil yob is so distressing. I simply don't get it at all :confused:

someone had put fishing line at chest height for an adult across some newcastle cycle paths luckily someone spotted it and phoned the police who said for children it would likely have been neck height....
 
There are an extraordinary number of oxygen thieves living amongst us in society. This is a prime example of the cowardly actions of those individuals. They are simply not fit to live alongside us but a bullet (excuse the pun) would be a waste of precious resources to put them down.

Hope the dog is ok. Was it a completely random attack or was there any sort of motive?
 
That is utterly horrific.

Being a dog owner, If anybody had done anything to my girl, they'd certainly know about it.

Absolutely heartbreaking. I do hope she's alright.
 
Absolute scum of the worst kind, but to be expected.

This is part of the price we pay for having the society we do.
 
Hearing horrible **** like this is the reason why i would/should never be a police officer. Joining the police is something i wanted to do, but i could not keep my cool if i found the person that did this.
 
It does make you wonder what else people like that are capable of, as you have to be pretty much lacking on kind of empathy to do that to a guide dog (usually a Golden retriever, was that the case for this?) - as they are one of the most emotion provoking breeds, that's ignoring the fact it's a guide to a vulnerable person.

Any actions of animal/human cruelty of that kind should result in a full psychological evaluation, I'd also be surprised if that kind of behaviour was a one off or was reserved for animals only.

They'll get their comeuppance in the end. Hopefully at the business end of a gun in their own whimpering mouth when the crushing futility of their excuseless existence bears out.

Glad the dog seems to be doing okay.
