Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2011, Yas Marina Circuit - Race 18/19

Looks like Hamilton will be a bit happier this GP.
But I would have loved to see him beat Vettel fair and square.
 
Good driving but fairly boring really, I think he was well within the car all day after Vettel went out, would have been interesting to see those two really fight it out.

Commentary as always was pathetically bad, Hamilton is going slowly to save his tyres and its because he's terrible, then they bang on about how much better Button is on tyres......... he does this by going slowly, when Button does it, he's a god, when Hamilton does it its because he's had to go into tyre management mode early because the implication being he's hurt them already, the fact that 40-50% of the grid is in tyre management mode even in qualifying seems beyond them.


Also what the heck was with the Williams today, I've never seen someone block as truly ridiculously as Maldanado, and Rubens after Hamilton went on the harder tyre, he tried to re-overtake him and got in the way around 2-3 corners. Did they figure if they both hold everyone up they'd get the car on camera more this weekend?

No idea why Webber did the extra stop, frankly just the undercut would have been enough to take Massa and would have left him potentially in contention with with Button, or at least close enough to take advantage of a mistake, ridiculous strategy.... or again if he WAS going to do that, why spend 5-6 laps fighting with Massa when both had worn out tyres, also letting Button get ahead as those two slowed each other down...... why not just pit and get 5 laps more on faster tyres.
