Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2013, Yas Marina - Race 17/19

They should just keep the health and safety rules and regulations and let the teams do whatever they want with the cars. It's meant to be the pinnacle of motorsport yet the cars are gimped beyond belief.

Only just caught up with the race, fairly unsurprising result :p

Was a few really decent laps with some good racing but also a fair bit of not a lot happening.

Mighty drive by Vet. He just gets stronger and stronge, whilst rbr make no mistakes.
The rest have a huge gap to claw back over winter.

during which rbr will extend said gap!

they have a good factory, obviously more productive than the rest, i dont see that changing

Let's be real though - if RBR are going to dominate next year then we've got no hope, with all the rule and reg changes they've gotta be toppled next year or never!

Yep, without banning Newey and the rest if the start of next year isnt any different it could just roll on like this for years

Talking about penalties how dud sutil avoid a penalty.

drunken said that he was actually ahead before the incident but i didnt see
i think the whole penalty system is more inconsistent than it has been for ages.

Alonso, no penalty, massa and RG are my specific memories of this being applied
track limits, no penalties, seems to be a non issue now
sutil, should have been a penalty too imo

If they did that, the drivers would be incapable of driving for the duration of a race. The cars could go 20 seconds a lap faster, and the human body wouldn't be able to cope with that for a more than a dozen laps.

No one in recent years has nailed larger reg changes better than Newey. I can only see an engine being weaker than may damage them from winning next year too.

I actually forgot all about the race today :o
Doesn't sound like I missed much, these threads are getting smaller. I think we need Button and hamilton to crash into each other. ;)

Sutil came out of pits between Maldonado and Perez, to a degree Sutil was pushed off the track by Maldonado and Maldonado went off the track himself, he just chose a much slower(and ridiculously dangerous) route back on the track. So the only person he passed was another guy off the track. He didn't gain in regards to Perez who was the only one who stayed on the track.

If Maldonado hadn't gone off the track as well I think he would have to give that place back or get a penalty, but seeing as Maldonado went off and Sutil had no where else to go he didn't have much choice.
