Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2013, Yas Marina - Race 17/19

getting annoyed with red bull because they get part of their funding from the parent company who primarily make a energy drink is dumb because all the teams get funding from various sources in various different industries. Also half the name as they are the title sponsor, currently "infiniti" is a car manufacturer after all.

Vettel changed my opinion of him this year just because I think he just did a better job than anyone else all year, car aside. I think the team as a whole has set the bar so high and I think having developed a car around what I assume is neweys vision of a car for these rules, and focused on that and carried it over year on year developing it constantly is what has ended up with 4 consecutive titles, and I often think the team deserve more credit but most people only care about the driver. I think the other teams can only look at them and learn. Great engineering, great pitstops, great strategy's, all on one side of the garage at least lol, sorry webber but I could never figure out how you ever ended up in f1 let alone stay so long! great character though.

Vettel had some ropey moments over the time but this year on track I don't think I saw any other driver did a better job, obviously the car helps but you have to capitalise on that and not make mistakes and you cant take away from him that he did that.

If you're talking about me well it's not just me RBS happen to be the most hatted team

Hmm I always did think the Royal Bank of Scotland staff had the nicest hats whenever I went in there too... Bloody bankers bonuses getting em all these hats.

Allegances between teams and placing development or reserve drivers in other cars is common place in F1, always has been. Ferrari used to use Sauber as their private driver pre school for years, as recently as Perez. They are also funding Bianchi's spot in Marussia. I imagine hes under orders to jump out of the way of any scarlet car that arrives in his mirrors.

Bianchi is indeed under orders to jump out of the way when a Ferrari appears in his mirrors. Those orders come from the marshals in the form of waved blue flags. If you don't see any difference between this and a Toro Rosso yielding to any Red Bull it sees when racing for position, I can't help you.

(jealous maybe) got to be joking..why would be jealous of a soda team that one of their main man had a hand in killing of A Senna?
Ok, the other stuff I could kind of see where you were coming from, but that one has just crossed the line into 'Full Retard'.

Never go full retard.

Some people need to grow up.

It's such a shame these threads get ruined by the few idoits who post here.

Finally people realise what a wally deuse is. Hilarious nutjob comments from the 50-something just learning to read Mr.Men books.

Adrian Newey killed Ayrton Senna?

Seriously deuse, get out before your banned for incompetent and incoherent trolling. Its utterly pathetic.

Hello! I'm on Roald Dahl books now I'll have you know :p again try to stop yourself calling people horrible names :)

It is true. Give people a common enemy and they shall band together ;)

I'm off to watch some real men race from the 60s-70s :)

I said he had a hand in it, please read all the post. Thank you.

"Head and Newey were both charged with manslaughter. "The court case was a depressing annoyance, and extra pressure, but it did not make me question whether I wanted to be involved in F1. It's the self-searching rather than the accusations that really matter."

So your glossing over all the Sauber, Mercedes, Schumacher, McLaren, Customer Chassis, Technical Partnership and Drivers being Mates points? Or will they be covered in a later post?

I recommend George's Marvellous Medicine in that case.

Honestly, give yourself a break for a bit because you're making yourself look rather foolish indeed at the moment.

Until the FIA create rules to kerb RBR's dominance, this shall continue.

Why would they unless RBR did something illegal? They've accumulated tons of money, have the best car designer and a phenomenal driver. Vettel can do no wrong it seems, he goes from strength to strength. He has the midas touch. It is kind of boring to see such runaway success race after race, with Vettel mostly strolling to the chequered flag with some ridiculous 30 second lead over everyone else. But, you know, it's just the way it is and it's up to the other teams to match this dominance, just like in any sport where one person or one team dominates for years. Everyone's bubble eventually bursts. It's just a matter of time before RBR are toppled.

RBs dominance will come to an end eventually, Williams dominated during at least two spells, McLaren in a couple, Ferrari obviously in the Schumacher days.
The main difference in those days (apart from Schumacher), was that the teams tended to have two very good drivers.
I expect the RB workers are really enjoying this spell of success and so they should.
Weren't they Stewart GP originally? You can't begrudge them the good times.

Yep, Stewart GP then Jaguar then RBR. They are in the same factory that Jackie setup back in whenever it was.

Merlin5 has it spot on. Its not about artificially pegging back RBR, its about the competition stepping up. Given the cumulative success shared by the rest of the F1 grid over 60+ years of the sport, its rather embarrassing that they have been defeated so comprehensively by a young and originally much smaller team.

Had these forums been around in mid-1991 to 1993, would we be having the same conversations, in the same tone, regarding Williams in general and in particular Mansell?
