Ha, I appreciate you’re fishing here but you can’t honestly believe it was deserved? Embarrassing really that Max will go down in the history books as the champion and his fans will never admit that he’s only won because the FIA haven’t followed their own rules.
 
Mercedes claimed that there were two breaches of the Sporting Regulations (Article 48.12) namely that which states “..any cars that have been lapped by the leader will be required to pass the cars on the lead lap and the safety car” and “…once the last lapped car has passed the leader the safety car will return to the pits at the end of the following lap.” Mercedes argued that had this been complied with, Car 44 would have won the race. They therefore requested the Stewards to amend the Classification under Article 11.9.3.h of the FIA International Sporting Code.

This is the bit that's nonsense to me....

Why were the other cars (the remaining 3 cars that had been lapped) not allowed to pass.... Masi can't just pick and choose to let 5 go and not the other 3 just because that puts Max up the backside of Hamilton...

Why not choose 2 cars to pass or 7 cars to pass....

Zero integrity to allow just the right amount of cars to pass to allow Max to be on Hamilton for the last lap. That part of it is a farce.... Just pick 5 as that's a good number....Come on.... Ridiculous.

Those almost-certain points Hamilton lost in Baku by pushing the wrong button on his steering wheel are looking pretty expensive right now...

It honestly would have made 0 difference, even if it was seen as a problem. Hamilton was so much faster it was inevitable he would pass with DRS, it's not like he was like Bottas using an engine on its last legs :D
It's going to court. I fail to see how they cannot.

For the record, Max did nothing wrong today.

FIA/Masi have made what should have been a great day into a farce.

Either winning, without meddling would have been fantastic for the sport.

Yet they have managed to make a huge mess of it.. :(

Interesting that they’ve effectively admitted that they didn’t apply article 48.12 fully. That’ll have some legal eagles frothing at the mouth.

How can you choose to not apply a rule fully?

Sorry but I don’t see how that work and certainly not how article 48.13 supersedes it because the message “safety car in this lap” is shown.

Oh wait, we’ve got an argument for that too… we are allowed to make up when/how we use the SC now.
