I think Lewis will be a lot more aggressive at the start of next season with max the torpedo, it’s the only way that he will learn

Probably depends on how the new cars react. RB have always been good on the brakes (in the right hands).

Lewis was definitely adapting in the later half of the season (see Silverstone), but I have a feeling that Russell might try his luck and make an impression.

It would be interesting to see how much relative development has been done on next years cars.

I recall early in the season Mercedes saying they were paying more attention to 2022 than 2021 due the aero changes this year impacting their low rake design to such an extent the 2021 car was barely worth developing but i'm guessing that changed once they realised they were still in with a reasonable shout at the titles this year.

Well you're all assuming his car will be up to it. If he's fighting a few places further back the RB bromance is going to become a divorce.

I think Mercedes will have the best chance as the engine is staying the same and theirs is the strongest. I honestly believe Red Bull will struggle next year as they are doing the engine side of things by themselves. Whilst I think it is the best decision in the long run there will be teething troubles just like any new company starting up.

If I was a betting man I would say Renault could be the surprise package next year. Mclaren are basically Williams of the 00's now. A few good results but mid pack for the most of it. You will never be at the sharp end when you are using customer engines. As for Ferrari you might as well flip a coin to see how well they do :P.

They didn't use all their tokens this year.

Will still take it over another year of "how far ahead will Lewis finish". Nothing against Lewis, but their team is incredibly boring/clinical - the only redeeming season was Nico's championship.

Win at all costs has been around forever in F1, it's nothing new. It's a competition, not a parade. All of the drivers you mentioned were ruthless in their prime.

We all like competition, and of course in many ways you can argue all teams want to 'win at any cost', but that's too vague and easy to hide behind, hence my refinement of that in my post as "Can only win by nobbling the competition"..

The fact you welcome unsporting behaviour on this scale to cure your boredom is the same shallow reason Bernie was considering sprinklers..

:)

Yep your absolutely right, we could see merc and RB in the midfield and Ferrari and maclaren at the top
I don't make predictions, but Merc will still be at the front, the pecking order will go back to form. Why, because the people who create the best car will be those that do the work and have the required knowledge. The Merc technical organisation is a machine and they won't get it wrong. If the driver by some miracle makes the difference then Lewis and George will wipe the floor.
Don't forget the hybrid era has been all merc.

Rules changes usually mix things up, and Merc need to figure out how to run on the much reduced budget cap. I wouldn't be so sure they'll be top. I don't expect them to fall off completely but I'd be surprised if they're second-best (like this season) or best (like so many before).

I do wonder how much the cost cap and reduction in CFD and computer time will affect them. No doubt previously they made dozens of minor changes to each component and then tested them all to see which was best as they could afford to. How many front wings can they now make and test with reduced computer time and the cost cap I wonder?

Funny when ‘f1 Fans’ reply with things like that Hamilton video to someone making a comment about a particular driver, it’s like you have personally insulted them somehow and they have reacted like a child :D
Yep, Hamilton has crashed loads making mistakes over the years not sure where I wrote anything different.

Work smarter not harder lol it just won't work. The last times the pecking order really changed, oh redbull in 2010, not really a change and maclaren had been stuffed by another max.
2009 brawn got lucky.
So not not really, maclaren and Honda, maclaren and tag, ferrari and ferrari, benetton and Ford,or,Renault none of which were big changes. The last one was ground effect, but williams still won even though they had the handicapped engine. Active suspension was banned so that obviously slowed williams.

So you say that you'd rather this artificial influence (of making up rules) or it's boring, yet say you are a massive F1 fan.. You aren't, it's this kind of shallow approach to the sport that had Bernie considering sprinklers to mix things up..

:)

I haven't once agreed with that last lap decision, but to belittle another team and drivers accomplishment, where there has clearly been zero favoritism throughout the season, is pretty petty. I assume you're hoping Lewis sees this and you get a knighting, or at least a bump on your government pension :p

I'm all for a good fight, which RB have brought all season. It's actually hilarious that you don't think any other team, including Merc, would take risks in that same position; or in your words "Can only win by nobbling the competition".

You're clearly a massively forgetful fan or just a very new one
