If Mercedes are going to the end of the race the last thing Hamilton wants to do is wreck his tyres racing with Verstappen, it seems like bad tactics to me to pit after 8 laps.

Yeah i'm not sure i get it either.. If the tyres were ok, just keep going?! It hasn't really done much for them right now and the end with everyone on faster tyres will be awful for Hamilton.

Stop was far too early for Hamilton. Top 4 are all faster than him at the moment.

Hamilton had pace at the front and would have opened up a gap. Those tyres must have had much more life in them. I just don’t get it.

Usually track position is everything here, but drs seems very helpful.

Only way that early stop would be good would be if he was going to 2 stop and drive it like he stole it! Bit of excitement for that last race.
