Accident.

So whats the fuss about :p
No fuss, just a bit of banter :p

Well played on keeping on at the BMW dealers, too many people think something is "good enough"

Mines got a patch of runny paint, three small runs that show slightly in the wrong light, from a repair before I bought it. Nark me right off... even more so that I didn't notice it before I bought it, not that it would have put me off for certain.

Well as for whiplash and claiming compensation for pain and suffering why not?

I just claimed again after another accident for my sore back/neck and shoulder etc after a muppet ran into the back of my stationary Mini Cooper at a roundabout being drivien by my pupil.

Other driver said "I was looking to the right" I said "I know where you wernt looking!!!!"

Anyway, I had reasonable amount of pain etc for nearly 2 weeks. Major inconvenience etc getting stuff sorted out and loss of some income. Why should his insurance company not pay? All he had to do was look where he was going and I would not have been sore etc.

I did not milk it, I was able to continue working but had to get out and walk about for 5 mins every hour etc. Had a reasonable discussion with his Insurers (Axxa, very good to deal with btw.) and its all settled. I'm happy there happy etc.

Exactly ive spent the whole day with a sore neck/back etc had to take a day of college to arrange and sort things out, major major inconvencience and just because a few people cry on here about putting there premiums up dosn't mean ill not be putting one in. I think Whiplash claims are most likely one of the smallest things to put premiums up imo anyway.

Either that's the strongest Focus Ford have ever made or the 30mph estimate was exageration.

Of course you do relalise that even though it's a non-fault claim on your insurance record it can still increase your premium...

I think your wrong.

Every £500 claim these days has a four figure sum attached to it for something, in a lot of cases, that feels like you've slept with your head at a funny angle.

I'm all for people getting a proper reimbursement for a genuine case but unfortunately its all the- oooh a twinge... a TWINGE.... how do I claim? that are costing everyone a fortune.

The "but I wasn't at fault, why should I have to put up with any pain" line doesn't wash with me. You know when you drive a car theres a chance someone might hit you and you might get hurt. Live with it or spend your life living in a padded cell wrapped up in cotton wool.

Day and age im afraid here, we are becoming like the US in every way with the "no win no fee" policies.

If you have had any loss of earnings/physio therapy costs etc then sure claim. But the mentality of people who claim over the slightest pain if it was not there fault beefs me!

Half the people posting against Tom here would all claim should they be in his position.

Stop taking the moral high ground. The bloke was hit up the harris by some dozy old biddy who probably took her test in black and white.

Whiplash can be instant, stiff neck, headaches, achie shoulders. Im guessing that the speed of the impact was guessed by him unless the old bill have done speed testing but he was obviously hit fairly hard. The Focus is a REALLY strong car so its taken the force of the impact through the body - a body shop will be able to determine whether this force has buckled the car or if its fixable.

Claim for what you need to mate!

I agree, so maybe a couple of packs of paracetamol at 20p a pack and a day off college... errr.... maybe buy a mate a drink to take notes for you so say a fiver.

Say round it up to six quid for the inconvinience ;)

They probably would but only for just amounts.

For example, if you are forced to take a week off work at no pay, then yes, claim to get the money you would have earned. That's only fair. You shouldn't be put in a worse financial situation.

But the guy has no job and is a student. What possible financial loss has he been caused by having a bit of pain for a few days? None. He has no loss of earnings.

Hire car came today, can you guess my amazement when a brand new Kia Cerato was dropped off  , rang up Help Hire and apparantly they can't give me anything better that size for my age, don't know whether to take that as an insult tbh :D . Still its better than a Corsa imho and its a fairly nice car for what it is, and will get me from A to B while the Focus is in the garage (as from tommorow).

Never had Whiplash have you - it hurts, for a long time. It can also lead to back ache many years later.

So what that he is a student - he pays the same for his car insurance (and probably more then most because of his age) as everyone else.

Are you really saying because he has no job he cant claim for an injury! Jesus mate, dont stand for Parliment will you - you might win with policies like that!!!!

Update:

Car has been inspected and is repairable :D , It's getting;

New boot floor panel
New front bumpers
New rear bumpers
New Ford badge :p
Rear right wing sprayed

Total cost; £2,000

I only paid 3,700 for car

All through her insurers, repairs going ahead now, be done next week sometime, parts have been ordered, repairs going through at Jennings Ford.

Take the lead time with a pinch of salt mate, it took the local BMW dealer 2.5 weeks to pull out a dent and respray the area around where it was! :D

No I'm saying that becuase he has no job he cannot justifiably claim for loss of earnings!

I am a believer of what goes around comes around, claiming on a whim, next time you could be claiming that you need 24 hour care, but I am not judging.

[TW]Fox I always wondered if you are Conservative party member? I just get that feeling from your posts.
