Accident.

cant blame the OP tbh , id probably do the same :o

if my body is worse than it was before the accident and its not my fault then im going to want compensating for it , people like the the person who crashed into him are the problem and shouldn't be allowed on our roads .

its what insurance is for

Can't blame you for claiming, but I think it's morally wrong. If it caused you to miss work and a loss of revenue then claim as that's what it's there for. Being an unemployed student and claiming because you can't play on the computer for as long is just wrong. You have suffered no loss of earnings and are financially no worse off. Why should you be given compensation?

Because he's entitled to it, and thats what insurance is there for of course ;)

I somewhat agree, 17 is far to young IMO. But anyone can drive unresponsibly at any age

I would ban saxo drivers too :p

*Calls cymatty & GT3 for backup* :p

Why not limit 17 year olds to 1000cc for their first year?

Atleast it's not as harsh stopping 17 year olds driving altogether.

How many 1.0l Micra's do you see upside down or rapped round a street lamp?

How many 1.0 litre Micra's do you see full stop? Plenty of 1.1 Saxo's upside down.

I knew you would say that.

I have been visiting quite a few scrappy's over the last few weeks and the trend as far as the Saxo goes seems to be 1.4 Furios.

As for the speed limit in Ireland....is that not because there are no motorways :D

Agreed, a 1l car can still go plenty fast enough to cause trouble. I don't know what the solution is, but that certainly isn't it . . .

Depends what 1.0l car it is. A 1.1 Fiesta takes 19 seconds to get to 60mph.

By the time the young boy/girl has got to 40mph they will have to slow down again ;)

No but it would go a long way to preventing a whole lot of accidents, high majority of young people drive extremely stupidly and poorly.

Yes i agree, but there are a lot of 18/19 year olds who have had their license 1/2 years and go for high performance cars thinking they can cope with the power increase.

I had a case of mild whiplash but still inconvenienced for someone elses lack of concentration.

The point others are making (and that I agree with) is that you haven't really been inconvenienced that much. It's cost you a day's learning, a few phone calls and some pain killers. Maximum of £10-20 but then you wish to claim £xxxx (any figure).
Sorry but IMO anyone who says insurance premiums don't increase because of whiplash claims is talking rubbish. Net result is a motor claim with whiplash injury can cost a company thousands of pounds. We all know "when there's a blame, there's a claim" cases are becoming more and more apparant in the UK and so the insurance companies have to claw this money back.

Somebody did the same to Mum well over 18 years ago and she still has problems with her neck now. She can't tilt it back that far as it's just too painful after prolonged periods of time plus sleeping on certain pillow types just makes it worse. That's what I call a serious case, not two weeks of slight discomfort that can be solved by a pack of Anadin Extra.
