Acer XB270HU - Worlds First IPS, 1440p, 144hz, Gsync

I wouldn't accept one faulty pixel, or any backlight bleed, on any monitor. Even if it was 'only' £300 or so. The quality control these days is just a joke, and I'm always amazed when people seem to just accept and put up with faulty, very expensive screens.

You pay for a new, perfect product, that's what you should get. My swift is perfect. My other dell (ips) is perfect. No pixel faults, no backlight bleed.

On the spec it says that it has 2x2w speakers - how do I get audio to work through the DP cable?

Cheers :-)

As far as I am aware G-sync disables the audio.

This is mine, no dead pixels (yet) :D

Edit, slightly improved picture quality by using low level light stabilizer function on phone. :o

I am starting to think there may be a genuine conspiracy among panel manufacturers to continue producing crappy panels with ridiculous bleed/glow issues, until we all get so used to it that we just accept it as normal. We're already halfway there it seems! Unacceptable. I will not buy a new monitor until these problems are resolved, and I would encourage everyone else to do the same. Only when their bottom lines start to suffer will anything be done about this.

Spot on.

Same here. After running Dead pixel tests I have a stuck pixel in the top right and on the blue screen there is a pixel stuck on black in the bottom left corner. what to do now :s

Return it if it bothers you. Don't keep such an expensive item if it's in a condition that you're not happy with.

That won't fix the backlight bleed which is worse.

IPS panels, they all have backlight bleed, that is just a part of life with IPS. VA/TN give better blacks.

IPS suffer IPS glow and backlight bleed, but some have extreme levels of backlight bleed, but an IPS will never give perfect blacks, certainly not in my years of using them.

Just like TV's, Plasma was always the choice for deep blacks at the cost of image sharpness. It is only very recently TV's have improved but still can't compete with a Plasma for blacks.

Different panel technologies have their strengths and weaknesses, unfortunately there is no perfect panel on the market. :(

The issue with dead pixels is that even if you get a monitor with only 1 or 2, it may indicate a potential problem with the monitor and you may get more dead pixels appearing in the future. I've witnessed this happening many times before.

This for sure, my DELL 3006WFP I think it was spot on, but in fairness it was something like 16ms and it was £1500 also......

All the IPS panels now have IPS glow and some level of bleed. My UC97 has backlight bleed but I don't ever notice unless I look for it. :)
