Adebayor hit with two bans.

I think it's hilarious that Adebayor is complaining that the Arsenal players lack class, it is probably the most astounding case of lack of self awareness and irony ever.

Maybe hes hoping that the powers that be do what they did with Eduardo, I'm sure he didn't mean to dive gracefully as a sack of **** get himself a ban then have it overturned. Folk referred to video evidence. means nothing though doesn't it unless the viewing panel was ray charles, stevie wonder and david blunkett? :p

Eduardo didn't nearly blind a professional footballer out of some childish personal vendetta, even though the press made it seem like he did :p

The difference is, if caught in game Ade would have gotten a straight red and a 3 game ban, if Eduardo was punished in the game, the correct punishment was a yellow card, nothing more, so his 2 game ban was just ridiculous, on appeal Uefa could have saved themself a little bit of their reputation by at least applying the corrent punishment of a yellow card for him to carry into the group stages.

The thing I keep getting irked by is this argument, by other managers and people aswell that Arsenal fans can dish it out but can't except it and they got what they deserved. People going on about what do you expect when you abuse people like the fans "supposedly" did in the game.

But we've seen he planned this before, as he kept mentioning his previous treatment and being upset at what the fans had been writing. Not to mention Arsenal fans are complaining about someone THEY PAID(indirectly but every penny he earned was due to Arsenal fans) on forums, not publically and not to camera's.

Adebayor has with a very public forum of tv, newspapers been slating Arsenal fans to anyone who has a microphone, pen, computer or camera. He's been having a go at the people who paid his wages in a FAR more public way for far longer, than a small minority(unfortunately) of Arsenal fans have been complaining about him. Remember, we've had plenty of Arsenal fans who loved him, even when he was playing like utter crap game in game out, they cheered for him and were happy when he played for the majority of last season, yet because some people write some things he blindly and randomly winds up ALL Arsenal fans.

Frankly I'm getting incredibly annoyed at him constantly going on about how the fans "Love" him and so he loves them back. It just makes me feel queasy in all honesty, hearing him talk about people loving him after 2 seconds at the club, hell it would make me queasy if he kept going on about being loved, after 10 years at a club, the way he's talking about it anyway.

Either way, I DON'T think he should be punished for celebrating like a moron, he was wrong to do so, he's a complete and utter **** for doing so, but so what, you can be a utter ****, loads of people are, not sure it deserves punishment. I do think he should be done for his other tackle and I do hope other people see him for what he is eventually but so what. I also think for the severity and the fact he appeared to be looking for it, that he really deserved a longer than 3 match ban for his stamp on RVP.

Of course that ignores the fact Arsenal get a free goal for the cost of a yellow card, most people would take that any day of the week before a game started so it's hardly any kind of punishment whatsoever and not going to discourage Arsenal players diving in the future.

The punishment should be more in retrospect because they have already gained the advantage from the cheating. Not a difficult point to grasp really.

Who cares, Celtic were garbage and it was a pointless game

The whole Eduardo diving thing was a handy way of deflecting how incredibly far behind Scotland are in footballing terms

I don't have any vested interest in that, I'm English :p I just think it's been made a mess of a situation by Arsenal fans, players and management and soils their reputation. Moreso when Arsenal supporters like yourself lash out at something unrelated like the standard of Scottish football because you can't argue with a fair point that you just don't like.

You could say the same thing about the Adebayor incident, easy to deflect attention to when Arsenal were getting done 4-1 in that game after being fairly easily dealt with by Man Utd the week before as well. But I'm not really interested in Arsenals fortunes, I just think the hypocrisy of the way one incident is treated compare to another is interesting when cheating is cheating and both should be punished in my book.

Hardly a pointless game with it being a Champions League qualifier. :p

For anybody who watched both of the games it was obvious the second one was a formality, Celtic weren't good enough to beat Arsenal over any amount of games, especially at the Emirates

Since when did Arsenal become the only team to have fans that take the mick out of players and players who dive??

Meh, Eduardo was touched, he went down way, way, way too easily, but I've seen it happen like 5 times in the CL since the Eduardo incident and none of them have even been mentioned. There were a few on Tuesday and Wednesday. Why are people selectively angry at diving .. ?

I personally accept that diving is part of the game and I feel exactly the same way about the Eduardo dive and the MGP dive against Arsenal, it happens, get over it.

It's also clear you don't understand football that well after a comment like 'after being fairly easily dealt with by Man Utd the week before as well' - Man Utd barely dealt with Arsenal, Diaby and Almunia's collective idiocy maybe, but Man Utd didn't really have much say in that game ..

That's arrogance.

Not really, did you watch the games? I think Celtic had like 2 shots in 180 minutes. Might seem harsh but it was a fair assessment.

Arsene must have agreed to some extent as he played a weakened side, something he wouldn't do in such an important tie if he thought there was any chance of a loss

That's a really poor personal attack and insults are usually dished out by people that can't make any constructive points. You should have a think about that.

I know one thing about football - that results matter and Man Utd won 2-1. Which if you are saying Arsenal played a lot better and Man Utd didn't do much then is kind of even more condemning for Arsenal that a half-trying Man Utd beat them. That ought to be concerning for Arsenal fans I would think if I supported them. More concerning for me than someone having a fly kick at a player.

Also no one is angry apart from you. I was simply making the point that Arsenal supporters think it is outrageous that their player is punished when he cheats but are adamant Adebayor should be punished and none can admit it's completely double standards. I think all the other people who are guilty of obvious dives should be punished as well, it's not a witchhunt against Eduardo - it is simply that Arsenal are high-profile but have enfused the situation more by
the day after Eduardo escapes punishment calling for punishment for an opposition player

Eduardo dived, if that's a 2 game ban that's fine by me, as long as the rule is consistent.

Adebayor nearly blinded RvP, and there was malicious intent. This should get a 3 game ban and it did.

2 cases, 2 fair results in my eyes, not aggrieved by either decision.

so if adabayor has admitted essentially he was guilty, does this mean mark "makes you cringe" hughes will fine him 1/2 weeks wages?...

..i wouldnt hold my breath

He really needs to do himself a favour and shut up about the whole thing. Its ridiculous. He is the only one talking about it at all! no one else cares.
