Advice on being threatened by 1 star reviews

If your business is legit and you have loads of 5 star reviews, who cares? They will outweigh the few 1 star reviews by far. Let's take someone to court over a few 1 star reviews, stupid and unnecessary, have you not got better things to do with yourself?

Also, you go and get other "customers" to leave 5 star reviews after the fact, seems like a bit of fakery going on here as well, just drop it and move on? To much time spent looking at reviews for your business, get a boner over them?
Because I assume he's worked his arse off for many years building up his business and doesn't want it tarnished by some idiot.

agree if you have commented to refute the 1 star review people will see that.
trustpilot for example like to talk up/defend the credibility of their reviews, but like with Amazon or google you take them with a pinch of salt, with first hand reference from colleagues/friends having the most currency

What the actual **** are you on about.

Sorry I miss read above, they are new reviews so that's on me. I thought for some reason old customers posted up new 5 star reviews. I agree with just getting your rating back but all this court talk it ridiculous

It's not the OP keep talking about taking anyone to court, it's other people, so not sure why you've decided to "get a boner" over the idea he wants to take them to court.

You can't post multiple reviews for a business on Google, you can update an existing one. Unless you use other accounts to create additional fake reviews, like this customer has done for the 1 star reviews. So instead of 1 bad review which I'm completely OK with, I have 4 from the same person, all with the intent of blackmailing me into giving a refund when there is no fault with us.

I've already said I'm not taking any legal action.

While we are on about disgruntled customers, i've just had a strange experience with someone i sold something to on eBay (private sale). He messaged me late last night basically accusing me of being a liar, saying i'd lied over the description of the item i sold him. Said something like i'll give you the chance to do something before i leave bad feedback. Absolute plonker, i never lied about the item, i'd described it accurately. Apparently he's dismantled it to "prove" i was lying about its condition, i hope he doesn't initiate a refund as i know eBay will side with him, i don't want a dismantled and reassembled item back (it was an electronic item). I just replied i'm not a liar and basically do what he wants regarding feedback, i can leave bad feedback too.

2 of the reviews have been removed by Google, probably because they have very similar wording. They didn't say which policy it breached. I'll take that, just hope they don't leave another.

That's good to hear. Google and other review sites should be employing checks e.g. IP / MAC addresses and fingerprinting to weed out sockpuppets. I thought anyway that sockpuppets are not allowed on most platforms including on here. The only place I know that sockpuppets are allowed is Mumsnet, for whatever reason that is!

Why can't I? I must admit i've never left bad feedback for a buyer but i don't understand why i can't, the feedback option is there.
You can only leave positive feedback as a seller, they changed it a few years back

Looks like amazon are changing thier review review methods.

Tried to leave a negative 2 star review and it was rejected.

Here's my review

Soon as I picked it up I knew it was smashed. Upon opening it was contained in 2 boxes. But the pot was wrapped in a single layer of small bubble wrap.

No point asking for a replacement because that will probably be smashed too.

Although I am technically reviewing the seller (the manufacturer in this case) it would explain why I saw no negative reviews if all saying "inadequate posting method" get removed.

Makes sense, it's got nothing to do with the product. If it's broken you get the seller to sort it and either refund or resend.
It's like when you see 1 star reviews "Product never arrived", tells me nothing about the product and due to the way Amazon works I probably wouldn't even be buying from the same seller anyway.
