Advice on Scooby purchase.

i was getting £2000 quotes

that was me at 25 with 2 years NCB, 1 claim and a previous driving ban.

If your being quoted £1700 with 8 years NCB at 30, you're looking in the wrong places

try www.moneysupermarket.com for comparison websites, confused is useless.

its the sad thing about scoobys, the ones worth having are all GRP20 which makes insurance insane.

but then you'll struggle to go from 0-60 quicker for cheaper !

Have a chat with A-Plan.

What he said - head over the scoobynet insurance section. Insurance is cheap for me I'm low crime rate area.

Don't bother with comparison sites, I've never had a decent quote on anything from them. Go to specialists.

Nothing wrong with a UK turbo - grp 17 - a few light mods and its a perfect A/B road car. Not the fastest but will do pretty much all the things you need it too.

Im over 30 with 8 years NCB, driving a 206GTi atm.

I got some quotes last night and the cheapest was over £1700 *GULP* , that was just through confused.com. Though only 2 out of the list did provide a quote. It doesn't help living in Bolton :(

Are there specialist insurers out thee who are better with cars like these ?

Try Gary Molson at Keith Michaels - very good prices and insures a lot of Scoobs..

if he gets back to you. Just about every scooby owner on scoobynet asks for him by name due to his reputation for getting cheap insurance for scooby owners

hes a busy man, but active on scoobynet, so if he doesnt get back, it will genuinely be because he was too busy :D

The guy at work has now said he would sell for around 8k ...

Offer him £7K :)

Its a buyers market for Subarus - loads around and only us lot that buys cars with our hearts rather than our heads are prepared to buy them.

Flooded market with narrow audience.
