Afghanistan - 20 years on

And so it begins (again).

On the Daily Mail's website, you can read in the introduction to the article: "Alarming images with, among other things, 'Sweden's fastest 14-year-old' illuminate a growing scandal in Europe's asylum crisis" and they talk about a "giant scam".

"He looks like he could be their father," the newspaper continues, suggesting that he is jogging with alleged peers.

- That such a large newspaper does not examine facts is strange, says Saad Alsaudi.

What is not said is that the picture was taken five years ago when his proud former teacher invited him to his old school to inspire the younger children, with whom he then took a jogging trip around the school.

Indian news is kinda interesting to watch, since their more worried about the threat of the Taliban and other terrorists + china

One of them mentioned China perhaps would like the Taliban to hand over a lot of the USA military tech

seems they look at it from a completely different perspective compared to our news channels who only care about migrants

In all honesty that is the political play book to a tee. US weapons with taliban, Pakistan to use them against India. Like err has this actually happened yet, are the taliban really going to give weapons to Pakistan? Why would they do that? Quite a reach.
I'm pretty sure Pakistan has enough weapons already.

Absolutely disgusting on several levels , Biden and the west should be ashamed.

It looks like we have 48 hours to pull out 2000 more Uk citizens and Afghan support staff . Some will be left at the mercy of the Taliban.

Yeah, that's the worry, looks like Boris has just caved over that farce with the Animal rescue place too, so some former serviceman + his staff + all the pets will be able to get into the airport and have priority while other humans who worked for the British are still in limbo in the mass of people waiting outside.

One of the more likely scenarios - after the 31st they probably anticipate the US to try and air-strike, etc. remaining weapon stores or Taliban caches, etc. where they can - by moving them to Pakistan the US can't so easily do that.

The USA gives blackhawks humvves and guns directly to Pakistan in order forthemto beable to protect their uses properly.

Dunno whether to laugh or cry at the Taliban forces all kitted out in plundered US gear, complete with Humvees and the likes, acting like US forces.

On another note this is just going to be seen rightly or wrongly as a cynical attempt at crowd management https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-58337632
To be honest though, it does seem like a realistic threat that an increased chance of suicide/bomb attack could occur in the crowd. It would get a lot of media attention.
